Earlier in the year Jenni and I booked a dog-friendly ‘cottage’ in wales and on discovering it had 6 bedrooms, a swimming pool and a couple of acres of gardens we invited Matt, Unnati, Leo, Gavin, Abbey, Gregor, Fru and Stewart down to join us! Joe tabita (and jenni too! When we bought the house we knew it needed some work but we did not realise how much work! We have broken the work into three phases with the first being to fix the existing footprint (damp, electrics, plumbing, walls, stairs, floors, firesi.e. everything). Well we eventually started phase 1 and it is no picnic with our house a building site over xmas! Don’t be offended by the lack of an invite over the holidays – we are lacking a couple of floors, heating and space!

Bought a new portrait lenses and have been trying it out on an unwilling audience at home. Great thing about this lenses is its ability to create a pleasing background blur (commonly referred to as Bokeh). Open up the aperture and pull the trigger. July 17th, 2009 under Photography. Joe tabita (and jenni too! Have been having some technical difficulty with my Blog software, but all fixed now. Gallery however has been running fine. Over the last month I have done a little travelling and taken some snaps along the way. Firstly India on a work trip:. Followed quickly by a long weekend in Dublin with friends and family:. Joe tabita (and jenni too! Headed down to Dorset to a rented cottage in a 1000 year old village with Rob, Jane, Charlie and Noodle (new puppy). Weather was British (sun, wind, rain, clouds etc), but regardless we ventured out to beaches, steam trains and long country walks (well long if you are a 3 year old). Joe tabita (and jenni too! Caspian Sea Monster – Real Science Fiction. About a mode of transport I had never seen before: Ekranoplans. Essentially a really fast (450 mph) way of traveling just feet above the ocean. It uses “ground effect” and short stubby wings to ensure it does not create enough lift to fly and not to little to float. The one pictured is actually a russian troop carrier. The goal being to rapidly and below radar get troops deployed. Check out the videos at BBC News.
