Way Up to Komodo. October 19, 2014. Water, water everywhere, and not a drop to swim in. That’s the thought that comes to mind every time I gaze longingly at the sparkling waters of Darwin Harbour and the Timor Sea. Sure, come dry season I do have the occasional furtive plunge in the waters at Nightcliff Beach, but I feel like a daredevil with a death wish when I think of our reptilian NT brethren who are the rightful denizens of these idyllic urban waters. I’d selected was not a cruise. Sigh, not again.

Flying in the wet. February 22, 2014. We have had some heavy rain and wild weather recently. In the last few weeks I have had one flight return to Darwin after being unable to land (and yes the co-pilot and several passengers did vomit), two weeks of cancelled flights to Daly River because of flooding, one aborted take-off attempt and one blo wn tyr.
