Finding DMo |More than a sandwich, less than a man|
http://findingdmo.blogspot.com/2005_03_01_archive.html
I'm a fighter, not a lover. Wednesday, March 30, 2005. Sargent Camp, etc. Within the last six months or so, I sold my iBook, the computer that pushed me through college. It made it's way to SLC with me and saw some occasional use up until I bought my PC last spring. Before shipping it to its new home, I printed all the documents on it (transferring files electronically is so passe! Memory at this camp. I liked this night a lot. Posted by DMo at 11:51 PM. One thing that never fails to amaze me - and I am ...

Sacred Bovine: December 2006
http://sacredbovine.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
When you find a sacred cow, milk it for all it's worth. Sunday, December 24, 2006. There's no "I" in Communicate. Why I apparently feel the need to preface my blog posts with semi-self conscious comments about what they may or may not be like is a whole other topic.). And while I might think that I was communicating my thoughts and feelings well, or that I was entirely justified in (mis)reading his words a certain way, none of that really matters, because in the end, for all our words, we didn't actually...

Umbrella Love: August 2011

Thursday, August 25, 2011. Moss, like a rolling stone. A while back I donated a portrait session to the Johnson Intern Program, the organization for which my mom is Director. It was time for the annual Year End Dinner, and my session was part of a silent auction. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View from the 'Bridge. I could be wrong. Moss, like a rolling stone.

Umbrella Love: November 2009
http://umbrellalove.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 24, 2009. I'm just starting to list some Durham prints on Etsy, to see how that works for me as a vending option. While I don't think of myself as a "fine art photographer", I get asked about my Durham prints enough that I decided to try out Etsy as a venue for selling them. I'll be adding more prints soon. Umbrella Love: July 2008

Thursday, July 24, 2008. Recurring Themes of My Life. But the thing is I have a history of this exact situation, always falling at the moment of a huge life transition. These little birds are signs. I have always assumed, without a doubt, that it ultimately made it - that some lucky cat was not. Waiting on the other side of that fence.). Then, there's the other thing. I'm sure you remember my obsession with broken umbrellas (I even got around to publishing a Blurb book. I know this has been awfully text-...

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Check out my Durham city guide. Thank you, Grace! Monday, May 11, 2009. A Photo Love Letter to Durham. Durham has oodles of amazing design. I thought, and set out making a long list with a commitment to photograph every single listing as a personal project and editorial challenge. A blog dedicated to the pursuit of creative alternatives to the demolition of historic structures. As he lays out building by building's history, a larger story of Durham begins to unfold. My heart breaks...

Umbrella Love: How Engaging
http://umbrellalove.blogspot.com/2011/05/how-engaging.html
Wednesday, May 04, 2011. I've had a couple of engagement sessions lately - one for a lovely couple whose wedding I'll be shooting in October, and one for my friends whose wedding, gloriously, I'll be attending as a guest (! First, meet Hillary and Kate. We pranced around downtown Carrboro together and took advantage of the beautiful day the the many colorful corners of town. Kacy Johnson assisted and we all had a lot of fun. Definitely looking forward to that wedding! Thanks to Mollie for assisting.

Wednesday, December 08, 2010. How beautiful are these children's eyes? I had the pleasure of photographing my massage therapist's children recently (did I mention I love the barter system? And their gorgeous blue eyes were almost as striking as their sweet, gentle demeanors. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View from the 'Bridge. I could be wrong.

Thursday, July 07, 2011. Off the Screen, Onto the Page! It's far too infrequent that I get to see my work not on a back-lit screen, where so much of it winds up for web use, but held in my own hands on the printed page of a magazine or piece of print marketing. I always smile when I see my name in print - actual. Print - and eventually I tuck it away into my tearsheets file. Here are a few samples of late(-ish), dug out from the files. Was used in their beautifully designed Annual Report. A spread for Fe...
