Dispatches from route 66. S and N are off to see America. Mt Rainier National Park. May 16, 2014. By the time we left Olympic, we had to book it to Mt. Rainier to have any hope of catching the sunset. In the end we didn’t get any breathtaking vistas at the end of our hike, but the experience was lovely. In one area, you can find mountains, beaches and rainforests. Yup. You read that right. Rainforests. And then there are the beaches. Rocky, craggy beaches define the wild Washington coastline. So we did what anyone in their right mind would do: we adopted a furry friend. Angel is 4 years old, a mix of Jack Russell terrier and beagle. She’s timid and gentle, but incredibly affectionate.
