2016 Finish-Along Information and Blog Buttons. Summersville: The Stories Behind The Blocks. Saturday, 27 September 2014. I may not have made much progress with this blog in the last few. Months but I have managed quite a bit of sewing, in between resting (I was completely exhausted after the Oakshott project. And I thought it was about time I popped my head in here to let you know what I've been up to. In July, I made these blocks for Charlotte. In August, I made this snowflake for Nicky. But haven't ye...

Mommy's Nap Time: April 2015
http://mommysnaptime.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Reclaiming my blog - Did you see my new tattoo? I haven't been blogging very frequently. I hold no obligation to this blog, other than a personal obligation to catalog my work. . but I still feel the need to mention my absence. Shruti and I's Quiltcon tattoos Quilt Blocks and Expecto Patronum. Blogging was easier when I was home more! Anyway, my time as Tech director is now over, and I'm ready to get back to at least blogging about finished projects! Lol I'm so behind! I've publi...

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: July 2013
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, 15 July 2013. I have had a busy few days, sewing wise. On Monday, I realised the birthday I've had since Christmas to make a quilt for was less than a week away! Cue some slightly panicked piecing, some less panicked unpicking, and some late nights - 1.45am in particular on Thursday. I understand the birthday boy was so pleased with it he has insisted on taking it to bed with him tonight - cos you need a quilt in 30' heat! Today was spent getting my stuff ready for Retreat, and then this evening ...

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: Shame, shame, shame
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2014/04/shame-shame-shame.html
Tuesday, 8 April 2014. Shame, shame, shame. Back in the days when I was a PA and when we went on to have our own business, I was an organised person. Slightly less so these days (ok, stop spluttering, I CAN hear you! But one area where I have always been hopeless is post. Where post is concerned, I am the worst friend / sister / daughter / auntie going. Things are never on time, if they arrive at all. But it is my resolution for 2014 to get better at it. It's not going entirely well so far. Anyway, I hav...

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: Shall we start with this one?
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2014/11/shall-we-start-with-this-one.html
Tuesday, 4 November 2014. Shall we start with this one? Earlier this year we heard there was to be a new niece or nephew, and so I immediately started planning a gift. The new parents-to-be requested a playmat, and, never one to take the easy way out, I liked the idea of an animal alphabet. I did some Googling, and bought this fabulous pattern. From Don't Look Now in Australia. New Niece who caused a bit of a stir arriving 5 weeks early! My favourite part of the process was picking the fabrics for the ap...

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: February 2014
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Saturday, 22 February 2014. It might only be February 22 but today is a beautiful spring day. There is a beautiful clear blue sky, warm air, spring flowers and new growth on the shrubs. Things have been a bit rough here for the last few months, but today feels like a great day for new beginnings and a fresh start. So today I'm beginning a big clear out in the house, and tomorrow I'm starting up my sewing machine for the first time in a month. It's time to come out of hibernation. Links to this post.

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: December 2013
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 December 2013. Goodbye 2013 and good riddance! So, it started with dreadful flu and it's ending in similar fashion with a chest infection, so I for one will not be sorry to see the back of this year. I started it thinking it couldn't be worse than 2012, but it had a real sting in the tail waiting for me, which I suspect will take most of 2014 to get over properly. I managed 8 quilts altogether, (there's more at the end) although half of these are still WIPs! Links to this post. New at The Vil...

Tuppence Ha'penny Quilts: Is it a stork? No, it's a flamingo.
http://tuppencehapennyquilts.blogspot.com/2014/05/is-it-stork-no-it-flamingo.html
Sunday, 11 May 2014. Is it a stork? No, its a flamingo. My neighbours have just had their first baby, a beautiful girl called Evie. After the excitement of the hexagon elephant for my friend's yet to be born baby boy, I decided the imminent new arrival (as Evie was when I hatched the plan) was the perfect reason to create a pink version, and what better pink animal than a flamingo. I joined the ranks of the IKEA number fabric fans for the backing, which gives a good contrast to the colours on the front.
