A bunch of guys sat on channel #ek. One day and discussed RC5 as one of us had just joined another RC5 team, and we wondered, why not start a QuakeNet team? There are so many people using QuakeNet each day, with lots and lots of fast computers, so this could really kick some serious ass if we got some of the people involved in this. After a couple of hours we had put up our own personal proxy and statistics engine. We also created a specialised IRC channel, #RC5.
