Kicking 2016 into the Sharrows | The DCyclist
https://dcyclist.wordpress.com/2017/01/01/kicking-2016-into-the-sharrows
A Blog of Cycling, What Not and Nonsense in the Washington, DC region. The Bikes of the DCyclist. Kicking 2016 into the Sharrows. January 1, 2017. The organized events this year were somewhat limited for no particular reason. My 2016 started with the Vasa Ride. This ride, put on by WABA (Washington Area Bicyclist Association). And the House of Sweden. In the spring I was feeling restless and in need of adventure. I decided late one evening to enter the Hilly Billy Roubaix. Although my participation in or...

Projectfemur: my hip is now missing a couple of bits… for the better. 31 August, 2016. My hip/femur is now a few grams lighter. There’s less pain and more mobility. #projectfemur – for now – feels quite a bit better. To say the least. Standing up, sitting down, lifting my leg, walking, running, skiing – it. Look ma: no more screws! So things are better, much better. My legs as of August 31, 2016: one is smaller than the other…. So I know what work I need to do in the next two months: get the right leg ba...

Tales From The Sharrows: April 2015
http://talesfromthesharrows.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Tales From The Sharrows. Irreverent observations from an urban cyclist. About Tales From The Sharrows. Rides 4/29 and Rides 4/30: No More April. And also it shifts the labor of schmearing onto me. Is this so I can choose not use the entire tiny container of cream cheese? Is it because the guy who slices the bagels has it in his contract that he only has to slice and doesn't have to schmear? Today home: It rained. Thoroughly. There were big puddles and I rode through them. Got stuck behind this guy. After...

A Blog of Cycling, What Not and Nonsense in the Washington, DC region. The Bikes of the DCyclist. Give Me a Centimeter Here and a Centimeter There. March 1, 2015. As many of you in #BikeDC know, I have been struggling with an elbow injury since last fall. As a matter of fact, I wrote about my struggles in a recent post. I had both bikes professionally fit by my friend Matt Moore, owner of District Cycle Works. My Blue Norcross EX. Matt upload the special Salsa Vaya setting into the Wahoo trainer. For hel...

The DCyclist’s 2015 End of the Year Blowout | The DCyclist
https://dcyclist.wordpress.com/2016/01/02/the-dcyclists-2015-end-of-the-year-blowout
A Blog of Cycling, What Not and Nonsense in the Washington, DC region. The Bikes of the DCyclist. The DCyclist’s 2015 End of the Year Blowout. January 2, 2016. The end of 2015 is upon The DCyclist again. This means it is time to look back on the year. What goals did I meet from last year? Where did I fail? Where was I bad ass? Where was I an asshole? There are all important questions. In addition, I like to set goals for the year to come. I think they’re called New Years resolutions. Distance: 5,034 miles.

Coffeeneuring 2015: When You Have The Time… (updated 22 Oct). 18 October, 2015. Another year of Coffeeneuring. Is in the books. As I’m currently without a job *. There was a bit more freedom in my ability to adventure and log stops (I’ll also note any supplemental stops in another posting). Note that you can see the route and additional pictures from each Coffeeneuring outing by clicking on the link in the “Distance” line – visual reference is a good thing, right? And a rainy ride to get here. The most t...
