Dive, Rock 'n Run

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Monday, March 10, 2008. Six Foot Track Marathon 2008. I drove from Port to Sydney on Friday, then up to the mountains with my parents where we stayed at my Aunt and Uncles place at Blackheath. The storm during the night was unexpected, as was waking up to low cloud, light rain and cold temperatures. The rest of the race was a bit of a nightmare thanks to the quad cramps. I’m very grateful to BernieG, who happened to come along j...

Dive, Rock 'n Run: 2007 Macleay River Half Marathon

http://diverocknrun.blogspot.com/2007/06/2007-macleay-river-half-marathon.html

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Monday, June 11, 2007. 2007 Macleay River Half Marathon. We were down at the start/finish area to watch the Marathon start (30 minutes before the Half). There was a one minute silence at the start of the Marathon for Ian Green (Green Machine). After the Marathon was underway I got ready, did a warm up and lined up with roughly 120-130 (I think they said? I wasn’t really running along with anyone although there were always a few peop...

Dive, Rock 'n Run: Hi

http://diverocknrun.blogspot.com/2007/08/hi.html

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Tuesday, August 07, 2007. Well, it’s been a while and I don’t know where to start other than saying things haven’t quite gone to plan lately. Much of this is old news as I’ve sat on this post for way too long. I was quite busy for most of June with some end of financial year related work. Still plenty of work to do since then as well. June’s distance was down a bit at 165km, mostly due to taper and recovery from the Half. I gave...

Dive, Rock 'n Run: Under Six Weeks to Six Foot

http://diverocknrun.blogspot.com/2008/01/under-six-weeks-to-six-foot.html

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Under Six Weeks to Six Foot. Seems I'm not even managing quarterly posting. I’ll summarise and try to keep it brief. The last few months of 2007 were very busy. Jodie had exams and full time prac for uni, we were both doing additional night/weekend work, and any spare time was spent with the kids. Skipping forward to the present and I’m now in Week 9 of 14 of my Six Foot training program. Definitely ...

Dive, Rock 'n Run: Week 14 of 18 – Recovery Week

http://diverocknrun.blogspot.com/2007/03/week-14-of-18-recovery-week.html

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Tuesday, March 20, 2007. Week 14 of 18 Recovery Week. Easy recovery run not far from home. Tuesday 13km Tempo Run. I hadn’t been along Lighthouse Beach for a while so that’s where I went this morning. Then I made my way through Marbuk and Emerald Downs, along Ocean Drive, Koala Street and home. Thursday 10km VO2 Intervals. Saturday 18km Long Run. So today I ran along Pacific Drive to Town Beach, along the river to Settlement City, t...

Dive, Rock 'n Run: Week 17 of 18

http://diverocknrun.blogspot.com/2007/04/week-17-of-18.html

Dive, Rock 'n Run. Actually more "Run" than anything else at the moment! Monday, April 09, 2007. Week 17 of 18. Tuesday 5km Recovery Run. Just plodded along feeling really flat today. It was reassuring to find out from Eagle’s blog that this is not unusual in the taper, and I guess it wasn’t helped by long days incorporating long periods of standing and walking around during the Ironman weekend. Wednesday 13km Tempo Run. Friday 9km with 8x400m VO2 Intervals. My legs are responding well to the reduced dis...

Tuggeranong Runner: March 2007

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_03_01_archive.html

Wednesday, March 28, 2007. I am just back from my latest work trip, this time to South Korea. No more work trips planned for some weeks, which is a real relief. Next stop: Boston - Monday 16 April! I leave for Boston in two weeks on 12 April, flying Qantas to LA and then American Airlines to Boston. Accommodation in Boston is heavily booked and I could only get some place out in the boondocks. But to be there - yo baby! Thursday, March 15, 2007. There's a logic (which is one way of putting it! I first vi...

Tuggeranong Runner: Motivation - a love story Part 2

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007/07/motivation-love-story-part-2.html

Friday, July 20, 2007. Motivation - a love story Part 2. Oh, damn", I thought, suddenly amazed at my ability to speak in tongues. My high school English teacher would be proud. The love of my life, Motivation, had disappeared in the trance of time. Some might say she wasn't mine alone. I know men are from Mars and women are from god-knows-where but THIS was ridiculous! Where had she gone? It is a bit like that for runners, too, missing their motivation. So often in running and in life all the world's...

Tuggeranong Runner: Venus in our vines

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007/09/venus-in-our-vines.html

Saturday, September 08, 2007. Venus in our vines. I had a real weekend of contrasts when it came to running. On Saturday I did the usual run with my group over 20k's or so out at the Cotter Reserve. It feels like you are in the middle of nowhere, yet it is only about a 10 minute drive from Canberra's western suburbs. It was a gloopy morning for running with mist and light drizzle. The conditions (at left) could easily have been mistaken for any melanchol. Y day on the Yorkshire moors. But how does a loft...

Tuggeranong Runner: December 2006

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html

Saturday, December 16, 2006. Tesso - one of the Magi. Canberra was graced by one of the Queens of the blog world, when Tesso from Brisbane joined me (at left) and a couple of others for a nice run around the Mawson, Isaacs, Wanniassa area of Canberra's south. Being runners we can accept any challenge, leap tall buildings with a single bound, stop trains, etc. A little later in the run for the first time ever I fell, tripping over probably not much at all and landing in a flurry of dust, interupting a ver...

Tuggeranong Runner: June 2007

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html

Saturday, June 23, 2007. My spies in Brisbane have told me that my home town is going through a cold patch at present where the overnight minimums might dip below 10 on the odd occasion. I'm sure that will be too cold for some runners up north. I can imagine some will brave the elements in their finest Antarctic running gear with a whine or two about how cold it is. Ahh! Nah We just got on and did the job in what was a magnificent morning for running. How's that for a sunrise (to. On a (slightly) more se...

Tuggeranong Runner: Just call me TD

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007/08/just-call-me-td.html

Friday, August 03, 2007. Just call me TD. Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments on my previous post which are greatly appreciated as always. After the 'excitement' of my Moty posts and earlier overseas adventures with pigeons and all I decided on a deliberately low-key tone for that last post. But as a couple of you very perceptively picked up (Cirque and Eddie especially), 'My Moty' has well and truly returned. She's back indeed. And I do feel like the Old Running Don of Old. It was pleasing to ge...

Tuggeranong Runner: November 2006

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html

Sunday, November 26, 2006. I've had a big weekend for running; actually a big week when I think about it. Overall I was very impressed with what I saw of the organisation of the Triple Tri during my run leg. The drink stops were frequent and well appointed, even in some of the most unlikely parts of the Mt Majura scrub. To see a friendly face at those tables in the middle of the bush was just great. Tuesday, November 21, 2006. Mt Majura vineyard Two Peaks Classic run. It was simply the most perfect of Ca...

Tuggeranong Runner: August 2007

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html

Friday, August 10, 2007. Creature from the Black Lagoon. I had another good week of running with recent niggles and injuries all behaving themselves. I also had the most delightful fun yesterday morning (Sunday) with one of my running buddies. It was a dream morning for running. We started at Weston Park in Yarralumla just as the sun gushed orange over distant hills, giving birth to another day. Barely a cloud in the sky. It was a mild morning; crisp but not cold. Cockatoos. To attend a Get Up. Moat with...

Tuggeranong Runner: May 2007

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html

Monday, May 21, 2007. I am sorry that I have gone missing in action since the Boston Marathon and my thanks to Eddie and Scott for giving me a push along to get back on the blogging scene. I have been in the injury doldrums since Boston and frankly haven't really felt like blogging. I have a great physio who I have much confidence in and I will again work with him closely to deal with this latest set back. As always I will stay positive, hit the pool and the bike big time, and come back ready to zoom.

Tuggeranong Runner: October 2007

http://tuggrunner.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html

Saturday, October 20, 2007. I am currently in Vienna in Austria for another work trip and saw Ewen's message on my previous post. Thanks mate for your concern. I have run out of answers and I have to admit to feeling very down about the whole thing. I have had a few other non-running related difficulties of late as well and the less said about this year the better. Rest heals all wounds. I shall return. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
