Scuba and H2O Preview. Easy shore dive from Alexandra Bay. The Islander burned sitting at the dock. Park and gear-up in the lot at the end of Market Street in Alexandra Bay. Enter at the ramp and head out perpindicular to shore and you can't miss the wreck. It sits in no current in shallow waters. The perfect introductary dive in the St Lawrence or addition to a day on a boat. Full details of the Wreck of the Islander can be found on the Seaway Trail website. Scuba and H2O Preview. Wooden Schooner that will have you thinking Pirates of the Caribbean! Some consider this one of the premiere wrecks in all of the St. Lawrence River. Open cargo where you can traverse the entire ship beneath the maindeck. Surface bouy for dive-boat tie-in. Follow line down to wreck. Top sits in only 60', but divers can drop to 120' at the very bottom if they desire. Little current on the maindeck and beneath. Off the starboard side of the wreck, the current is strong.

Using a wreck reel, with proper training, you can swim "underneath" the ship with the deck above your head. Easy shore dive from Alexandra Bay. The Islander burned sitting at the dock. Lies on its side, huge cargo bays open, at an angle with the screws in the sand at approximately 110'. Cabin is open, on its side. Be very careful of punctures in cabin during any swim-throughs.
