We had all taken multiple falls the day before, so we all sucked down ibuprofen as soon as we got up. No breakfast at SLO so we had some breakfast bars. Three of us riding the Continental Divide on KLR 650's. Divide trail day 4. July 6, 2011. Tuesday, July 5. Start: 8 am Lima, MT. After a huge breakfast at Jan’s cafe (sure beats our instant oatmeal routine), we headed directly east. The dirt road was nasty with deep ruts from the ranch equipment, and it was a challenge to stay vertical, a challenge not always met. Since Paul had never been to Yellowstone NP, we veered off the official Great Divide trail and stopped to see Old Faithful blow off steam.

Three of us riding the Continental Divide on KLR 650's. Divide trail day 6. July 7, 2011. Thursday, July 7. Start: 6:50 am, Western Hills campground, Rawlins, WY. The Adventure Cycling Association mapped out the divide trail. Well, today we did a lot of that adventure thing. We started with a fine ride out of Rawlins on 71 and into the Medicine Bow National Forest, including the pleasant Aspen Alley. We decided to walk out and see if we would end up in civilization before nightfall. Divide trail day 5.

While Gary arranged a flight out of El Paso to Grand Rapids leaving Tuesday morning, Paul and Barry prepped Paul’s bike for the ride home in the cradle. End: Airport Motel 6, El Paso, Texas.
