Outdoor burning in Dixfield requires a permit - issued on the day you want to burn. Outside burning is subject to accceptable weather and evironemntal conditions as posted by the Maine Forest Service - http:/ www.maine.gov/dacf/mfs. No permits will be issued on Class 4 or 5 days. Permits may not be issued on other Class days at the discretion of Town Wardens if weather or wind conditions are unfavorable. The following types of burning are permissible without a permit so long as no nuisance is created.
