the baconista blog: 01/10

All about bacon love. Will Do Yoga for Bacon. As some of you may know, my new years resolution is to start taking better care of myself. This includes eating somewhat. Better and definitely exercising a lot more. And since I’ve not actually worked out in 5-6 years that shouldn’t be a super hard task. But alas, the baconista blog has taken it's toll so I decided to get some new DVDs focused on targeting problem areas (i.e. my pork belly). Dinner at DuMont Burger. DuMac and cheese with bacon lardons:.

Wednesday, June 23, 2010. With frame 9".5". I found this simple and adorable butterfly at the jewelry shop and epoxy-ed it onto the frame, I love all the dimension it adds. This is yet another piece that is on the easel at the moment, working with oils I have definitely learned the value of always having multiple pieces going. This painting is not fully finished but almost, she was born out of a sketch I did while sitting in. My favorite breakfast spot. In Park Slope, Brooklyn. Oil on maconite board.

On Cars and Collections and Recollections. After a quiet day at home with the kids I headed to the airport to collect Emilie. Napkin Doodles around Brooklyn neighborhoods. About Doodling in Brooklyn. The Sea Creature (A Work in Progress). December 22, 2015. So, I indulged in my favorite hobby tonight: Doodling. I got lost in a drawing that resembled the sea creature from my dream. I’m still working on it but here’s what I have so far. Not an exact replication of my nightmare but I feel that I got a nice abstract essence of the creature from the deep that demands attention. I gave it my artistic attention, I guess. May 16, 2015.

If I were in NYC. Monday, October 28, 2013. Crown Heights, Brooklyn. I love Haiti. I love Haitian food. I found this gem of a restaurant back in 2006 while on summer project. Ever since then every summer we've spent in NYC with a group of college students we take them there. Kombit- Haitian Kreyol for community. You will certainly get a taste for more than just the food. The artwork, music, and Haitian brothers and sisters who own this place, make you feel as if you're in Haiti. Expect to have a true bru...

joy in nyc: Dizzy's Diner
http://joyinnyc.blogspot.com/2013/10/dizzys-diner.html
If I were in NYC. Thursday, October 17, 2013. Park Slope, Brooklyn. When we lived in Brooklyn the original location of Dizzy's. On 9th street wasn't far from where we lived and our landlords told us about this place as a "must visit" for brunch. It's smaller and there was always a wait on the weekends- we knew it had to be good. Then a couple of summers ago we were subletting a place in north Park Slope and there was a new location a few blocks from where we were with more space! View my complete profile.
