Life doesn’t always go to plan « the unknown rider
http://www.theunknownrider.com/2013/10/07/life-doesnt-always-go-to-plan
Racing, riding and adventure by bike. Life doesn’t always go to plan. It’s been a bad few months for me. Next to no riding has been done and frankly, i’m not sure it ever will again. My back had been on and off again sore, and eventually I said enough is enough and poked my GP until he ordered an MRI. Turns out i’ve ruptured L5-S1 disc which is compressing nerves intermittently and leaving me thankful for those days I can walk without pain. GO RIDE YOUR BIKE, IT’S RAD! Olas + Montanas: Exploring Parma Creek
http://www.olasmontanas.com/2015/06/exploring-parma-creek.html
Thursday, June 18, 2015. A lovely sunny Saturday and a chance to explore a great little spot near our new home, Parma Creek Nature Reserve. Oh yea, we moved! Work opportunities and life have taken us out of the mountains and back to the coast. The NSW south coast is a beautiful spot, amazing empty beaches and only a short drive to the mountains, the best of both worlds. First spot was a nice lookout, a little early for break but the view was nice so what the hell. Parma Creek from Parma Fire Rd. Now it g...

http://www.olasmontanas.com/2014/10/spring-skiing-sentinel-and-mt-carruthers.html
Monday, October 20, 2014. Spring Skiing, The Sentinel and Mt Carruthers. Angry Wagyu bull I met on the drive to the mountains. Kind of excited too. We were up early and at the turning circle around 8:00 to meet a host of people; Belly, Rimey, Tim, Dave, Richard, Carl, Mrs Skifree and Paul the telemarking sheep farmer. After a mostly uneventful wet crossing of the Snowy River and walk/ski to the saddle above Soil Con Creek we assessed the skiing out to the Sentinel. Boot packing up the Main Range Trail.

Olas + Montanas: September 2013
http://www.olasmontanas.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 23, 2013. Spring Turns on Mount Kosciuszko. This season has left me… uninspired. False starts, irritable visitors and sunny days has meant my gaze has been focused eastward, towards the coast. While I have had some great resort days, the Backcountry this year has been frustrating. The days I have managed to get out there I have encountered poor weather with even poorer snow, but great company. A windy day out on Guthega Trig with Rohan and Mark. Rohan and Mark up Guthega Trig. Wednesday, 22 January 2014. Picking pockets with the Epic 480. Monday, 13 January 2014. Without a permanent home there is still no bench on which to unpack tools and plane any bamboo. As seems to be the norm recently, any rod building has been confined to finishing off some glass rods on whatever surface is available. At best, a dining table, but occasionally a coffee table, with tools and thread scattered about the place. The current project is an Epic. A few progress pics of the wraps. View my complete...
