Cycling in Graduate School: February 2011
http://cyclingingradschool.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Cycling in Graduate School. Saturday, February 19, 2011. The build has been slow. To be fair it has pretty much stalled. But I really want to get back to racing. So I made a decision today to just do it. I have signed up for a race 3 weeks from today. YIKES! Yeah my training is probably 2 months behind schedule but in order to push myself to train at 5:30 am I needed the pressure of knowing that the opportunity to race was real. Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Now on to the data collection and defense! Subscr...

Cycling in Graduate School: January 2011
http://cyclingingradschool.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Cycling in Graduate School. Saturday, January 15, 2011. Monday, January 10, 2011. Ok so I have a pretty big list of goals for this year. Of course they are in several different areas of my life. While I do plan on going into more detail (basically so I am held accountable for each of them) later I want to get the gist of them down now. Get a faculty position or post-doc. Rewrite a number of articles and resubmit them to journals. Spend more time with my wife and Connor. Get back into racing shape. So it ...

Cycling in Graduate School: Summer Trip
http://cyclingingradschool.blogspot.com/2011/07/summer-trip.html
Cycling in Graduate School. Wednesday, July 13, 2011. We ended up averaging only 22.2 miles per hour but the first hour was much faster. I guess getting my rear end kicked by Cat 1,2, and 3 Texas Racers has made me much stronger! The trip to NC was much nicer since we had my wife's new car. We got a Honda CR-V and I love it. I am pretty jealous of her new car and the drive to NC was very nice. Labels: 4th of July. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Donald Jones Cycling Blog.

Mise En Place | Jan About Town
https://janabouttown.wordpress.com/2010/01/18/mise-en-place
Mise En Place- A French phrase defined by the Culinary Institute of America as “everything in place.”. Maybe it’s because I’ve ben reading Michael Ruhlman’s “The Making of a Chef” But I’m heading to bed tonight feeling so prepared! I’ve “prepped” the Jones kitchen for a day of smooth eating. Meals and snacks can be such a challenge in our home, although ours is no different than any other. And made the house smell so greasy that I woke up gagging in the middle of the night. I vote crazy. Life seems much ...

A ride with Lance. Move it move it! By Marie- Jo Lamarche. Up here, you just never really know when cycling season ends. Your last ride might be as late as November or as early as October. For that reason, instead of feeling sorry for myself and complain about the cold, the rain, the darkness of such depressing fall weather, I put on my running shoes, and head for the trails with my beloved Quick! Up and down, right and left. Jumping a creek, avoiding a rock, trying not to slip. Living in the moment.

A ride with Lance. By Marie- Jo Lamarche. We consider food as fuel. Our muscles as powerful partners. Our body as a complex engine. We see an unknown territory. As a potential new loop. A recently paved road. As velvet under our wheels. As an intense short interval. As a epic challenge. As time away from our passion. As our worst enemy. We view the world in a different way. Because we are indeed. Sur le même thème. Responses to “what we see”. Feed for this Entry. 17 octobre 2010 à 11:24. Avertissez-moi p...

A ride with Lance. By Marie- Jo Lamarche. Categories: Words for the soul. Walking, running, pedaling. Road, paths, trails. Please don’t be scared. I’ll show you the way. Morning fog, sunshine, fresh air. Rain, snow and ice. Life in the fast lane. Please don’t be scared. Just take my hand. Let me be your leader. I’ll show you the way. But yet another day. But this time, a total different ball game. I could fake happiness. But I lost my spark. It’s all just a blur. Stuck in a body that isn’t mine. Avertiss...

A ride with Lance. By Marie- Jo Lamarche. Tags: 24h of Tremblant. I get up this morning and all I can see is fog. Big thick fog. I know it’s usually followed by blue sky but I can’t see any blue just yet. I’ve completed day 3 off the bike. 3 long days. Feels like an eternity. Like when you first fall in love with someone and you don’t see your new love for 1 full day Yep, an eternity. The only good thing about it is that by staying off the bike, I’ve got less laundry to do! Do to you, right? My daily dri...
