Adapted from: Fix It and Forget It. 1-1 1/2 lbs. stewing meat, cubed. 10 3/4 oz. can cream of mushroom soup. 10 3/4 oz. can cream of celery soup. 1 pkg dry onion soup mix. 4 oz can mushroom pieces. 1 Combine all ingredients in sloww cooker. 2 Cover. Cook on low 8-10 hours. 3 Serve over rice or baked potatoes. Variation: Add 1/4 cup finely chopped celery for color and texture. Friday, February 8, 2013. 4 cups prepared, unsalted instant mashed potatoes. 1/2 cup sour cream.

Red, White and Blue! I was asking Mr. Lovebug what we did for the 4th of July last year and it was so unremarkable that neither of us could remember what we did. I don't know whether to be sad about that or just chalk it up to it was rough year. It doesn't matter now anyway. We're back in HI and we're much happier than we thought we could be. What a difference one year makes. Last year we were sitting in a house with no HHG, sleeping on air mattresses, watching Netflix on laptops and Nooks and eating on plasticware. We had just moved to Texas from Hawaii. It was a culture shock. It was a temperature shock. A year a later and we're almost back to that same position. What's the right thing to do? I don't know. When I received the text that she was having an appendectomy and that the damage was so extensive she nearly lost her life, my own life changed. Suddenly the miles between us didn't matter, whatever it was that had wedged itself between us didn't matter. I thanked God for saving her and deciding that her work on Earth wasn't done.
