But besides that I'm not really not worried about anything else because my mentor is extremely chill. Workers during th...

Tuesday, December 16, 2008. Here is my article: Water quality is probably one of the most important issues that we should take care of, why? Because it affects everything. If San Diego has dirty beaches, that can lead to a vast variety of problems with wildlife and humans. If the water is too toxic, then the fish will die off, and that just starts a chain reaction of issues with wildlife in the ocean such as loss of population. Those are Total Coliform, E. coli, and Enterococci. I decided to monitor bact...

Evan Lott's Blog: Nathan Lewis Lecture Reflection

Wednesday, December 9, 2009. Nathan Lewis Lecture Reflection. I thought that Nathan Lewis's lecture was very structured and constructed very well. At first I didn't understand why he was talking so much about coal and how it was so abundant and cheap. Then he made it explicitly clear when he got into his counter argument that we cannot depend on this source forever. Why didn't we find some way to harness this energy a long time ago? Well all my work would have never been corrected if Randy had not taught the class and me all types of different writing techniques. Another thing I l...

Tuesday, November 3, 2009. Bed Prep and Compost. With the topic of bed preparation and compost there are a lot of issues. But with issues there are always solutions, and creating solutions is what my special assignment group is aiming to do so we can create a bountiful garden. Bed preparation is preparing the bed of soil to grow crops. One method of bed preparation that is effective is double digging. Double digging makes the bed fluffy and very easy for roots to grow in and for water to reach the plants.
