I can only imagine the silent beauty of this activity as the Master sat down, picked a brush, opened the ink, and set brush to scroll. This is a beautiful and sacred art. This picture was taken looking from one garden area into a second garden area through the “Moon Gate”. The beautiful pattern on the walkway is the use of various rock sizes and colors to create a pattern called “Sunflower paving”. The walkway pattern certainly has the effect of moving the eyes ever so subtly towards the opening. Portland Classical Chinese Garden #1. Chinese Kite Festival #4.

I was looking back at the beautiful pagoda building with inlaid wood doors and windows that were intricately carved.
