The Murphy's Blog: December 2008
http://themurphysblogg.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 15, 2008. It's winter, but not Iowa winter. All weekend there was talk of how a big storm was going to hit us here in the Eugene/Springfield area. Seattle area and Portland got hit, while we waited. Finally Sunday night the snow started coming. By Monday morning we had a mix of snow and ice. Plenty of ice. It'll be in the teens next couple of nights, so black ice will be everywhere. Many around here are in panic mode because it's so cold. Seriously? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Murphy's Blog: Winter Picnic
http://themurphysblogg.blogspot.com/2009/03/winter-picnic.html
Tuesday, March 31, 2009. In February, Craig and I had a chance to go on a winter picnic. We drove along the Willamette River for about 30 miles to the town of Oakridge, Ore. We stopped just outside of town at Green Water Park. There we explored the area around the Willamette River and had a picnic. All in all we had a great day. Here are some pictures of our day. The Murphy's Blog: August 2008
http://themurphysblogg.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
Thursday, August 07, 2008. Craig and I recently returned from a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico. We went down with our church in Newton. There was 17 of us on the team and we aged from 13 to about 70 years old. The main project for the team was to build a house. The foundation of the house was 16 by 16 and the house was 2 stories high. We finished it in four days. We also visited an orphanage that serves over 100 children of all ages. We helped feed and dress the toddlers. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Murphy's Blog: June 2009
http://themurphysblogg.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Tuesday, June 09, 2009. Well, that hasn't happened before. Craig here. Last weekend I got to do something I haven't done before as a journalist: I covered a local team that won a state title. The Thurston Colts won the Oregon 5A baseball title last weekend. The team finished second a year ago (I wasn't here in Springfield yet) and some of the key players were on the football team that finished state this past December. There were a lot of neat seniors that graduated from the high schools around Springfie...

The Murphy's Blog: October 2008
http://themurphysblogg.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 29, 2008. Drive to the Mountains. The McKenzie River near the Old Hatchery. This is Goodpasture Bridge. It is working covered bridge, unlike the ones we found in Iowa. However, I think the covered bridges in Iowa are more scenic. We stopped near the town of McKenzie Bridge and had a picnic lunch. The sights, sounds, and smells all brought back childhood memories of camping in the woods. These pictures were taken near where we picnicked. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Today I got a key to...

Saturday, May 17, 2008. Well in case you think that the only tulips are in Iowa are located in Pella, here are some pictures from my flower beds. I especially love these purple tulips. They were planted by some previous renters. I did not know that they were even in the bed. I planted the other tulips and daffodils. When they stop flowering and die back, I am going to plant some other flowering plants. Later, I will post some pictures of my new flower bed and other flowers. Wednesday, May 07, 2008.
