Watch me blow my paycheck on new music every week for a year. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. WK12 - The Strokes - Angles (6.5). Label - RCA Records. 65 out of 10. Under Cover of Darkness' is the definitive best song on the album. The track is comprised of riffs and melodies that are constantly bouncing off of each other. There is a very fun and light feel to the song that is simply infectious. Further helping the song along, is a huge chorus that is belted out with immense force and depth. 4) You're So Right.

Watch me blow my paycheck on new music every week for a year. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. WK20 - Darwin Deez (8.5). Label - Lucky Number Music Ltd. Darwin Deez, actually, is quite the purveyor of simple and basic indie-pop rock songs, which immediately get jammed in your head. His album is incredibly fun and never tries to be something it's not. It's just good, clean fun. Rating - 8.5 out of 10. You and I buy star maps and drive my car around Los Angeles. You and I buy star maps and ding dong ditch tele...

Watch me blow my paycheck on new music every week for a year. Friday, October 1, 2010. WK37 - The Dream - Love King (8). Label - Island Def Jam Music Group. The Dream kind of came out of nowhere this year, and it really shouldn't be that big of a shock. He already released two solo albums in the previous two years, and though they were under the radar, they were strong and showed enormous potential. The Dream brings a level of smoothness and cool. Rating - 8 out of 10. 2) Make Up Bag. 7) Nikki, Pt. 2.

Watch me blow my paycheck on new music every week for a year. Wednesday, June 15, 2011. WK21 - Givers - In Light (8). Label - Glassnote Entertainment. 8 out of 10. There's a bit of a fun reggae feel on 'Ceiling of Plankton.' The group vocals on this track also provide for an almost anthemic and tribal tone, making it hard not to sing along. The instrumentation on this track are also fairly captivating. At different parts of the song there are creative percussion fills, synthesizer riffs and f...WK24 - Cu...

52 Records: WK19 - The Go! Team - Rolling Blackouts (3.5)
http://52records.blogspot.com/2011/05/wk19-go-team-rolling-blackouts-45.html
Watch me blow my paycheck on new music every week for a year. Wednesday, May 25, 2011. WK19 - The Go! Team - Rolling Blackouts (3.5). Label - Memphis Industries. I've got to say, I was really looking forward to "Rolling Blackouts" from The Go! Rating - 3.5 out of 10. TORNAD.O.' is the most annoying song you will ever hear - this I'm sure of. Placing this song first on the album is perhaps the worst mistake The Go! Next up is 'Apollo Throwdown,' which reverts back to some unorganized chaos. Yes there ...
