These pics show the building of the rebar structure and locating of the J-Bolts. Below are the J-Bolts. These get imbedded in the concrete with the threaded (silvery) ends protruding above the foundation. The base of the tower attaches to these bolts. Below is most of the roughly two and a quarter tons of rebar that was specified by the manufacturer. We wound up using about 10% more than specified. Assembling the Tower Sections

Assembling the Tower Sections. Below is the beginning of the assembly of the first section. I placed the legs on some of the same timbers that came with the shipment. (There was a small fortune in lumber that came with the tower! The first section complete. This is actually the top section which in the case of my tower is 12' long. The rest are 20' long. I figured I'd start with the easiest one and work my way down to the more difficult, and larger sections. More like dealing with I-beams and rivets!

Making The J-Bolt Alignment Fixture. This first pic shows four 4' x 8' sheets of cheap whatever it's called, like plywood but cheaper. Any good lumber yard should have this stuff. I used 1/2 material. In the next pic you can see some scrap pieces of plywood used to tack the sheets together. You'll want to make sure you don't put these pieces in the way of your fixture. Below you can see a Vise-Grip in the foreground. This was used to help hold things in place prior to welding.

These pics show the hole preparation. Except for the cutting of the concrete. Which isn't all that exciting.). This is the hole rouged in. Depth can be approximated by comparing with the 55 gallon drums in the background. It's about 40. The concrete parking lot is 6 thick. Hole must be shaped very accurately and loose material must be removed.
