Sunday, 5 August 2012. Tolley Family in Canada. Another trip out west for another family reunion. This time a bit further north. We flew into Kalispell, Montana where my parents live. We enjoyed reuniting with my sister and her little girls, and my brother and his fiancee. We spent the afternoon out on Grandpa's boat. Canada has the best parks. The equipment was newer and the trees a bit taller, but it is the same park I went to as a little girl with my grandpa. We paid our respects to Grandpa Brooks.

We spent many hours, weeks, and months planning and working on this event. It brings in tens of thousands of dollars for the school each year and I was determined to set a new record. Wednesday, 9 November 2011. The Burning of Guy Fawkes. Remember, remember the 5th of November. The Gunpowder Treason and plot,. I see no reason why Gunpowder Treason. Should ever be forgot. Monday, 23 April 2012. Finally, after a few weeks of delay, our honeybees have arrived. We ordered two "nucs" (nucleus) which means they come packaged with a queen bee, some brood (baby bees), honey stores and about 30,000 other bees (workers and drones). Saturday, 1 September 2012. Amy's 9th Birthday Party - Olympics. Amy turned 9 years old during the Olympics this year. So we decided that it would only be fitting to celebrate as Olympians. We used frisbees for the discus and corn stalks (minus their leaves) for the javelin, which works surprisingly well. The girls each got a few tries and then we measured their best distance. Sunday, 30 October 2011. OK, there was no revolution while I was there. I had a nice 4 day trip to Monterrey, Mexico. I was mostly in a very limited section of the city, but aside from signs in Spanish- you'd never know you weren't in the US. Cars and building styles were very similar in the city anyway. The view from my temporary office. They say the humped mountain in the Middle is an 'M' for Monterrey. Another mountain is 'Chair' mountain. A large mountain on the way from the airport to the city.

Friday, 9 November 2012. Amy won a blue ribbon (only 4 out of 25 kids) at the school 4-H club level and now will compete at the county level in January ( 2min long). The title of her speech is "I'm Half Alien" which outlines her mom's resident alien status, the path to American citizenship and its benefits.
