oceanvillagers: It's curtains for us!
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/09/its-curtains-for-us.html
Friday, 14 September 2007. It's curtains for us! I'm sure that piqued the interest of one or two of our newer readers (you know who you are) but what I am actually referring to is our new, gorgeous curtains! To quote Lori "they are the swankiest curtains I've ever had". I think that says it all. Take a look at this. All for the measley sum of £140! Lori has now had her swimming pool, er, I mean bath. The Tiler) eating his breakfast in it! Please feel free to check out the Week 7. The Pitcher and Piano.

oceanvillagers: Exciting first week
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/07/exciting-first-week.html
Thursday, 12 July 2007. Well My word. We have been busy! The kitchen is no more. The 3 Piece suite has been delivered and now resides in the lounge under the cover of plastic. But, more importantly. THE FECKING BBQ HAS BEEN DELIVERED. Oh yes. We are talking brushed chrome, 3 (count 'em) burners. An ice bucket and a bottle opener. Not only that, but it heats up to 700C. Quite why I'm unsure (cremation anyone? But its still impressive. For the. BBQ lovers, here it is. In Kuti's restaurant, Southampton).

oceanvillagers: A new beginning
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/07/new-beginning.html
Thursday, 5 July 2007. Well, we finally got the keys to our new house today! After 5 months of wheel spinning with solicitors, things finally started moving after we wrote an official complaint and followed it up with a rather stern phone call. That Saturday we spent the day answering most of the "queries" that had been outstanding for nigh on 4 months ourselves, with a simple mixture of deduction, internet investigation and reading the documentation THEY had sent US! What do we pay them for again?

oceanvillagers: Stairway to heaven?
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/07/stairway-to-heaven.html
Thursday, 19 July 2007. Well, it could have been a stairway to heaven for someone! We had noticed the stairs were a little creaky - and one particular one was very dodgy. However, having ripped up the carpets and had a closer look its a wonder no-one has been hurt. What a mess! How on earth the surveyor managed to miss that is beyond me. See the Week 2. Pics for the extent of the repairs that were needed. Pics to see just how much of a mess it was after the tiles had been ripped off. Week 2 pics here.

oceanvillagers: Done and dusted
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/09/done-and-dusted.html
Thursday, 27 September 2007. We waved goodbye to Ivan yesterday and cracked open a lovely chilled bottle of Veuve. What can I say - we are so thrilled with the final result. It really has captured everything we set out to achieve and we even came in slightly under budget. Ivan himself said that it was like the end of an era, and I have to agree in part. But for us, its the beginning of something else. A new start, if you will, living in our new haven. Here are the final pictures for Week 10. Kitchen and ...

oceanvillagers: An interesting proposition
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/07/interesting-proposition.html
Sunday, 1 July 2007. We are in the process of buying an ex-rental property in Ocean Village that will need renovating throughout. Not particularly interesting I hear you say. As two divorced people having lived in rented accomodation for the last 2 1/2 years, this is quite an exciting prospect. Was that a yawn of indifference I heard? The BBC have approached us to film our efforts in renovating said property, taking before and after shots, to air on their new Home File programme. The Pitcher and Piano.

oceanvillagers: Lights. Camera. Action.
http://oceanvillagers.blogspot.com/2007/07/lights-camera-action.html
Thursday, 5 July 2007. Lights. Camera. Action. The BBC were on hand today to capture our first footsteps into our new home. Naturally, we had been in before a couple of times to start making initial plans, but this time we didn't have to hand the keys back to the estate agent! Lori, a natural in front of the lens, took the media attention in her stride. I, however, suffered intially from my usual self conciousness. A quick glug of Jacobs Creek Rose soon sorted that out though. So, no pressure then.
