Follow the Journey: Go-fasts, whomper-wakes, and idiots.
http://sv-journey.blogspot.com/2011/12/go-fasts-whomper-wakes-and-idiots.html
The original Journey info page. The old blog site. Go-fasts, whomper-wakes, and idiots. We were seeing a lot more boat traffic since reaching the Sunshine State, more cruisers and more local traffic as folks take advantage of the mild days here. Fortunately, Al was holding on to the furled Genoa, so I didn't have to go back and fish him out of the drink. He took this picture right after the go-fast passed, as you can see, the guy is already in the next county. I got on the radio to call the bridge tender...

Our Life with Ceol Mor: March 2014
http://theceolmors.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Our Life with Ceol Mor. A little crew, a small boat and a great big world to see. Saturday, March 15, 2014. To the left, to the left. Yes I have been singing a little Miss Beyonce as of late. "Everything you own in a box to the left.don't you ever get to thinking, you're irreplaceable.". Isn't accumulation of stuff the American way? Perhaps I should take a look at my passport again, just to be sure. The writing assignment Maura did at age 8 that I absolutely treasure. It still makes me giggle every t...

The one married to the guy who boasts that the only ice he's seen since 2008 is in his glass of rum? We decided to hang out in Annapolis this year for a couple of logical reasons. I wanted a long period with supertrainer Jen to get my back back into shape so I could, you know, walk. Normally. And we'd needed a few months to let the bank accounts rebound after the excess spending of the last glorious winter in St Augustine. I don't have a log cabin, or woods full of maple trees. And I know that winter...

Building a 'brand new' Centaur from K319. Sunday, 26 October 2014. Totally forgot to post my day out i had a couple of weeks ago helping a couple of mates pull their Centaurs from the river in Chirstchurch. Hence the piccy above of Tony's boat and Zafira pulling John's custom-made trailer, be it not very far - just to the other side of the car park. Gonna finish it off this afternoon (sunday) fill the screw heads on the inner front panel as i'll paint that white, also after much measuring concluded i'd h...

Follow the Journey: 12/4/11 - 12/11/11
http://sv-journey.blogspot.com/2011_12_04_archive.html
The original Journey info page. The old blog site. Lonely Days and Lonely Nights. I've definitely noticed a trend on this migration south. We are all alone. In marinas, at anchorages, there are really no other cruisers out here. Last time south, we traveled in a pack, lots of us grouped together each day, headed towards warmth. The anchorages were full, as we all jockeyed for our little piece of bottom grabbing. Links to this post. Finally going the right way. We got away from SailCraft Boatyard this mor...

Follow the Journey: Casting Bubba's
http://sv-journey.blogspot.com/2011/12/casting-bubbas.html
The original Journey info page. The old blog site. They were generally two to a boat, and not anchored, just bobbing around. Every now and again two boats would bump, and one arm would reach out and push off. No engines could be heard, I was getting a mite nervous as we approached. There were a lot of them, they were right in our path, what were they doing there? The Dueling Banjo's theme thrummed in my head. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Finding your way around.
