A doctor and a nurse. A doctor married a nurse. They had a baby. Their story of figuring life out. April 13, 2013. Carl is an Emergency Medicine Resident. That means he works a lot. And I mean A LOT! He is scheduled for an average of 60 hours a week (10 hour shifts), but has to stay after to finish all his charts. That is usually a couple hours after. I have been screamed at, sworn at, and ridiculed. I have had lewd comments made towards me. I have had to dodge punches and kicks. I have had people attempt to bite me. My husband has been bitten.
