Danville Days: August 2010
http://danvilledays.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 30, 2010. Remember back in the day when you (or maybe your peeps) would pull in to a gas station and an attendant would like dash. Out to help you? Like, you'd have to be like 'NO THANKS' with great firmness and resolve to avoid the feeling that it might be expected of you to tip the entire Exxon staff? Those were the golden days. Employer, they don't use automated checkout machines. But they will, never fear. And then they'll kill it even more. Why are we going along with this shit? Last ...

Danville Days: November 2011
http://danvilledays.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 30, 2011. For a long time, at least since like high school, I've thought of myself as more of a Night-time Person. Historically, evenings have been my productivity sweet spot - the hours when distractions and other annoying demands on my time (school, work, humans) are through, and I've been able to get things done. Tuesday, November 29, 2011. The Carrot and The Stick". What does this even mean? I've always been confused because the phrase conjures up this image for me of a long thin ...

Danville Days: February 2012
http://danvilledays.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, February 22, 2012. Zero-Sum Capitalism (fracking revisited). One of the tensions within capitalism described so well by Marx is that tension between the promise of the ultimate freedom of the bourgeois economic subject on the one hand and the kind of world inevitably created by the crushing, race-to-the-bottom unfreedom of industrial capitalist value-production on the other. The second fallacy I'd call the "utilitarian fallacy", which is that it's possible to maximize self-interest for a large...

Danville Days: orchid fails :(
http://danvilledays.blogspot.com/2012/03/orchid-fails.html
Sunday, March 11, 2012. My orchid could not bear the weight of its own beauty. It fell last night, and the whole flower part broke off. It's very sad. Oh dear. 1st grade began with the requir3ement to bring a single fresh flower to school. I got the time school begins wrong (! Yes, i tell this story every time something happens at chicago waldorf involving flowers lol. This event reminds me of the poignant Antonio Machado poems I am reading- always tied to nature. Im waiting for an update to this website.

Tuesday, January 06, 2015. Happy New Year 2015! I see it's been 3 years since my last post. I see there was a lot happening when I wrote last: #Occupy Chicago was winding down, my orchid had its second of what would be many failures, and I was in the midst of auditing a School of the Art Institute class on Adorno's Marxism, which led me to Platypus. And anarchism's ethos of dropping out and dumpster diving had a certain attraction, despite being something I would never seriously have considered. I li...
