Our dean sent out the following email from her family, requesting help:. Doctors don’t know the cause. Some suspect it’s a rare form of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). s490: Switching Sides
http://s490.blogspot.com/2008/07/switching-sides.html
Friday, July 11, 2008. I never thought I would get a Mac. But my 4-year-old laptop has gotten so slow that it's barely useable. And I can't stand it anymore. Why does Windows have to slowly break over time? So I just got a MacBook Pro. And it's awesome. When I start it up, it turns on and starts working right away. Not in 10 seconds. Not in 10 minutes. Now. But the best part is that it works and it will probably still work six months from now and even six years from now. Yea! Family looking for help.

Friday, June 29, 2007. Glacier Lake was beautiful. It was crystal clear and there was a ridge with patches of snow behind it (but the air was very warm, even during the night). We climbed the ridge this morning and were able to see panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and forest. It was quite spectacular. Here are the highlights of the trip:. 8221;) We were lost in the woods for an hour and a half. But not scary lost – we knew we would eventually find the trail. Here are some pictures:. So I know I o...

http://s490.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Tuesday, March 04, 2008. We recently went on a week-long vacation to Mexico with friends who have a 3-month-old baby. They made it seem pretty easy - she just ate and slept the whole time. We babysat her one day while her parents went scuba diving. According to this website, we made a couple of mistakes:. But she seemed to really enjoy being hosed down for her bath and she almost beat Ed at chess. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

s490: Teach for America vs. DonorsChoose
http://s490.blogspot.com/2008/10/teach-for-america-vs-donorschoose.html
Tuesday, October 14, 2008. Teach for America vs. DonorsChoose. A couple of years ago I decided that I wanted to choose one particular cause to focus on in terms of my charity donations and efforts. I figured that by focusing I could greatly increase my impact. So I've been focusing on education. I've been going to presentations, talking to teachers, reading about some of the issues,. And two founders of charter school systems (one of which takes an incredible community-wide holistic approach).

s490: November 2007
http://s490.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 22, 2007. We're at Grandma's house in Washington. We were supposed to eat an hour ago, but when they cut open the turkey, we found this. So we're not eating the turkey and we can't make gravy. Luckily, my aunt had an already-cooked ham and a bunch of jars of gravy at her house, so they went and got it and we will be eating our ham Thanksgiving dinner soon. Thursday, November 15, 2007. Chutney Chicken Salad Salad, please. My lunchmates teased me that in Berkeley, the default must be sal...
