Even though i love this place- this space. I think i might be leaving the recimo behind. Although i wouldn't mind being considered or even called a 'foxy brit'. I'm still not certain that i'm entirely thrilled about this. Wait, no, i should say that none of those pictures are of me.]. Just making dinner at 3 am. I've just used the phrase. In two different email messages to friends. That a sign of something. Putting myself to bed. I've got to get out of here. The dangers of going out dancing. When i decid...

Try again in the morning. I can hear the garbage collectors emptying the dumpster in the parking lot outside my building. It reminds me that I’ve yet to clean out my refrigerator. There are still a few stray dishes in the sink. Only a few more things to do before I’m gone. Posts might be sporadic for the next few weeks, if at all. But there’s enough in the archives to keep you entertained. Be safe and well. And take advantage of life as much as you can. That’s what I’m going to try to start doing. He sai...

You know the way silence feels sometimes. Like that instant just after slamming your hand in a door-. Or stubbing your toe-. But before the pain comes? That's the way now. Wishing more than a hundred thousand times. That i could take back what i'd just said. Reasons my mouse might be sticky (or, what i'm doing at the moment). Eating a carameled apple. Pencil panic: relearning the art of writing. And does that even matter? As a follow up to my post about sexual orientation and categorization and such.

The story one has to tell won't be anything important. So one can just as well write it down. Take the edge off this incurable propensity for writing, simply by giving in to it without taking it seriously. If the trick works, one is saved for the time being. I close my eyes and what do I see in my mind? The Quest for Christa T. Dog gerel (at) hotmail (dot) com.

Lots of weird things have happened to me recently in conversations with different people. A friend told me that . . . 1 something I had written made him feel aroused. 2 if I ever wanted to seduce someone, I could do it with that. Voice (we were talking over the phone). He promptly asked me to stop talking that way. 3 I am strong, smart, witty, and pretty. 4 he couldn’t have sex with some girl, because he was thinking of me. 6 he didn’t like it when I said the phrase e-driven-mindfuck. How do you do that?

December 5, 2014. Your touch doesn’t drive me reckless-crazy,. I don’t hear stars pound in your veins. But sometimes you’re a perfect shallow. Anchoring my complex depth. Calm when I am all wild moon and moor. Screaming for the lost who spin and cry. Like wind-chimes clashing in mad chaos,. You are measured, careful with my breath. April 18, 2014. Easy to attract kind-less control, swallow it. For healing later. He asks if I could drop. The poetry, emotion, joy and soul. That compel me to drive storms, make. Love in stars and smile at random. Black holes trying to be bright. Lighten up,. I reply through clouds and fuzzy dreams. My beat’s a crazy crow in a quantum heart;. I absorb sunlight intravenously, dance. In the car park to a rhythm that defies you. Every time. By the way, that’s. Melting your achilles’ grip to ironic dust.

May 1, 2015. I can’t see the moon. Beyond dark tree and thought branching. Out into the universe, each busy with itself She. Has locked me out, left me to fend as best I can beneath her. Awesome vacant space, lit only by the garden fairylights. Too busy for my needs, she has a chaos of new stars to teach. About the destiny of planets, constellations, souls and all. The rest that can’t be named outright in word or song,. Because everyone, absolutely everyone, is running scared. August 28, 2015 at 11:02 pm.
Lost | forget me now

June 25, 2014. Dancing in the car park, I’d have liked that,. Music balanced on the car hood. You and I working out how to move each other. Slowly, one step at a time, without pain. Watching meteors power through night sky,. I’d have liked that too; sparks and destiny. Crashing in the frightening void, me. Curled into your shoulder, everything and nothing. I was quiet and you could not hear my thought. Or count my heart’s pulse; could not feel. My desire to kiss a falling star you. Enter your comment here.

Horseshoe Seven: Kent Meyers and "The Quietest Place in the Universe"

Two Kinds of Luck. Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Kent Meyers and "The Quietest Place in the Universe". Congratulations to my fellow writer and long-time friend Kent Meyers, who teaches at Black Hills State University and has written several novels and other books. His essay, "The Quietest Place in the Universe,". Appears in the new issue of Harper's magazine. It's an amazing piece that wrestles with the complex issues of astrophysics and renders them poetic and compelling. Kudos Kent! Posted by John Nelson.
Horseshoe Seven: March 2014

Two Kinds of Luck. Monday, March 31, 2014. The End of March. Yesterday we took a drive out to the park, ran and walked a few miles, and enjoyed the sunlight. I think I sunburned my poor unprotected scalp! We cleared the porch out, getting it ready for company, thinking what a great day it would have been to have people there. Instead, we fired up the grill and enjoyed some good burgers. The only thing is, now we're looking at a few more inches of snow tonight. Blah. Posted by John Nelson. The End of March.
Horseshoe Seven: Das Biblio-mat

Two Kinds of Luck. Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Ja, so I saw something like this in a little coffee shop in Fargo, ND, one time. This baby is a one-off awesome machine that dispenses wonders like Wunnerful Wunnerful. The autobiography of Lawrence Welk, that happening music man. Two bucks! The little one up in Fargo dispensed, for fifty cents, a little book of poetry from a made-over cigarette machine. So how many poetry book-dispensing cigarette machines do you find in the world? Horseshoe Seven: More Progress
http://horseshoeseven.blogspot.com/2015/01/more-progress.html
Two Kinds of Luck. Monday, January 26, 2015. With a day that seems taken out of March, with melting ice and snow running in the ditch and down the driveway, it seemed a good day to take another step toward renewal and restoration. So I put the leash on the dog and tied up my laces and hit the road again. Oh, it's not easy, not by a long shot. That's how the start of my run felt today. Posted by John Nelson. Labels: Ft. Pierre. The YD ’s Old Rhymes in a New WordPress Bottle. My One Kids’ Poem. May 6, 2006. This is not literally my only childrens poem, but it is the only one worth reading. Wouldnt you know it… in the poem, I attempt to teach something about our language. There is one more cookie there:. Shouldnt he or should he? Johnnys mother says: FORBEAR,. Do not eat the goodie! Johnny makes his FOREBEARS. Does just what they say;. Wants to be a decent lad,. When they say, obey. Grandma gives the sternest rule:. April 13, 2006.
