Your Own Good Death. Life matters- talk about death. August 8, 2016. August 8, 2016. On Friday we sat together in his room. “Gunsmoke” blasted from his roommate’s TV. He was impeccably dressed. He patted my hand. Sometimes we chatted. Mostly we let the sounds of the wild wild west fill in the spaces around the silence we sat in. He told me to be good this weekend (he always told me to be good when I left) and he told me he was looking forward to my visit on Tuesday. Tuesday is tomorrow and Sunday he died.
