seven hundred words: eight o'clock precise
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/01/eight-oclock-precise.html
Friday, 31 January 2014. A-Ha - Early Morning). One of the habits I wanted to begin, and am very glad I did, was to read more, as part of Laura's the year in books. I read both these books you mention. I bought John Greens Paper Towns because I enjoyed The Fault in our Stars, but was disappointed by it. Gone Girl I agree was one of those books you had to carry on reading.and I recognised myself when you said you had to slow down your reading to enjoy the writing fully. Look forward to you...I am a bit be...

seven hundred words: see you on the other side
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/see-you-on-other-side.html
Friday, 28 February 2014. See you on the other side. David Gray - The Other Side). It is time, I am afraid, for sevenhundredwords to come to an end. Over the last few weeks I got the idea of redesigning the blog, and renaming it, and then decided that in fact I would prefer to start completely afresh. I intend to leave these pages here for now, if only to redirect people to the new page, which I am very excited about. The other element, is that writing at length, tends towards the introspective, and the ...

seven hundred words: the sun must set to rise
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/01/the-sun-must-set-to-rise.html
Sunday, 19 January 2014. The sun must set to rise. 18 On our last full day The Husband finally succeeded in lighting the log fire, and the three of us curled up in our cottage, well-fed, well-rested and content. Strange to realise now how recently I did the exam. Feels like a lifetime ago, which is surely a sign of a wonderful trip. Ooh I love the sound of your cottage in Cornwall - where was it? Hi, thanks so much for visiting! A nice relaxing holiday after an exam sounds like a wonderful idea!

seven hundred words: moving through the silence
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/moving-through-silence.html
Sunday, 2 February 2014. Moving through the silence. Joy Division - Shadowplay). A slow day resting, trying to give my body a fighting chance, trying not to succumb to the illness that threatens to take hold. There has been tomato soup and white crusty bread for lunch, the epitome of sick-day food. There have been cuddles with the dog, briefly, at least, until she got restless and tried to lick me better. She is not sick after all. A couple of weeks ago, one of the writealm prompts. From hand to hand.

seven hundred words: still having fun
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/still-having-fun.html
Sunday, 9 February 2014. Jamie Cullum - Twentysomething). 19 The coffee and hot chocolate after our walk with the dog. I posted this last week for my first photo of February as I contemplated how to join back in with 365. 20 I liked the sight of my shoes on the floor in my Grandad's lounge, as I curled up on the sofa drinking tea. The sense of feeling right at home, and the scruffy trainers discarded on the carpet, took me right back to being the baby of the family. 23 Got to work before eight. 25 Feelin...

seven hundred words: back on track
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/back-on-track.html
Sunday, 16 February 2014. Kings of Leon - I Want You). 35 After a very long afternoon at my Grandad's whilst The Husband fixed his computer (the benefits of being married to a technophile) we managed to squeeze in a walk with Millie before it went dark. It was good to get some fresh air after hours huddled round a monitor, and from the looks of this shot as we headed back home we timed it just right. 40 I spotted these lamps on Ella Masters' post. I suggested the desk lamp and floor lamp as possible pres...

seven hundred words: first things first
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/first-things-first.html
Saturday, 1 February 2014. Widespread Panic - Shut Up And Drive). The first of February. The first time The Husband has brought me breakfast in bed this year. He went to pick up a parcel from the post office and returned with McDonalds. I think as much for him as for me, and not the healthiest start to February, but it was a treat, and a surprise, and marked the start of a happy day, and hopefully a happy month. Tonight the first episode of season two of The Mentalist (likely followed by the second, thir...

seven hundred words: July 2013
http://sevenhundredwordblog.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 31 July 2013. Sweetheart, there's no one else in the world. The Eels - Millicent Don't Blame Yourself). So it feels like this blog is turning in to one long excuse for not posting. I have a pretty good excuse this time though. A four legged, big brown eyed, floppy eared, gorgeous excuse. Allow me to introduce Millie. If you don’t STOP IT RIGHT NOW she will be a violent adult only with MUCH BIGGER TEETH. Squeal like a puppy when she nips. Growl like a dog when she nips. Say No and sit on a high...
