Saturday, May 10, 2014. I love this boy! The peanut butter cookies are very good (and happen to be gluten- and dairy-free). I am taking them (along with an obscene amount of potato salad) to a cookout with my family on Mother's Day, and allowed Jordan and myself to sample only one each. I am hoping the rest survive the trip! We are planning to stay a few days, spend time with the family, and do some hiking (and Jordan plans for some climbing/bouldering, too). Should be a nice adventure. Links to this post.

On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, I have an 8am class, so I get up, turn off my alarm, and head straight for the shower (after a quick check of the internets! When I get out, there are my clothes waiting for me. I get dressed and fix my hair and makeup. Domestic Scholar: Building Blocks Hat
http://domesticscholar.blogspot.com/2014/11/building-blocks-hat.html
Wednesday, November 19, 2014. My little guy needed a new hat for this winter, and I improvised the design- the first time I've done so with a knitting project. It is incredibly basic- just a bit of ribbing, then a checkerboard pattern, with decreases to the top, with a pom-pom- somehow, baby hats always need a pom-pom. I wrote the pattern out and put it in a PDF to put on Ravelry. Check it out. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Under the Tulip Tree.

It is generally well known that I am not fond of cooking. One thing I do like to fix is homemade soup – chicken, potato, sausage, rice….you name it, if it goes in broth I’ll probably attempt it. Allow soup to simmer until potatoes are tender – then, you are ready to eat! Click the image below for a printable recipe card. View all 3 comments.

Modern life on a 100-year-old farm. Pleasant Hill Ponderings Blog. February 1, 2016. Pleasant Hill Ponderings Blog. Domestics By Jill
Monday, June 20, 2011. New Week, New Style: Trying a new Nail Color. This week on New Week, New Style, I'd like to focus on our nails. Most of us have that signature color that we reach for, and while that's great, why don't we shake it up every once and awhile? Here's a few colors that I love! I love a really great blue polish. It's so fresh, and so unexpected on your nails. This shade, called No Room for the Blues by OPI. Try this color with your gold jewelry, the two will really pop off of each other!

Monday, June 29, 2015. Some Thoughts on Poldark. I was really predisposed to like the new incarnation of. Currently airing on PBS's Masterpiece Theatre. I have never seen the original, nor read the book(s? But, judging from the previews and the bit I heard from period-piece lovers who remembered the version from the 70s, I was excited about a sweeping romance, set in 18th century Cornwall, starring a dark and brooding hero. I have to say, I am just tired of the way that infidelity is portrayed in so many...
