A home was built by a group of trades of Warkentin Homes from Winnipeg in Arroyo Seco for a young family living in a rental in very crowded conditions with another family. Another home was built by a group from Vancouver Island in Bellavista for one of our poorest students, her mom and sister. Vacation with a Purpose. Colegio Cristiana Divina Mision was built in 2006 in Arroyo Seco, by a few Canadian groups. As a result, the children in the community have a chance for a good education. Arroyo Seco in the Dominican Republic is a poor, agricultural community with a high illiteracy rate. Many of the children attending Colegio Cristiana Divina Mision had never before attended school, mainly because of the cost of uniforms in the public schools in other towns. I would like to sponsor a child.
