The people who settled in this region left us a rich legacy. Under extreme conditions, they managed to create and re-create villages for their families and others. The list was created on January 25, 1844 and signed by Antonio Rey, the prefect of the district of Paso del Norte. “C” stands for “casado” or “casada” (married) and “S” stands for “soltero” or “soltera” (single). In 1733, an official record was created of soldiers receiving salaries at several presidios in the north of Nueva España. Below is a listing of men who received salaries at the Presidio of Paso del Norte.
