An Archivist's Miscellania: March 2014
http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Saturday, March 15, 2014. Downtown Dash 10K report. I've tried to start this post several different ways, but my brain just keeps going back to "Woo! I ran a 10K! I ran a 10K! On the scale of athletic accomplishments, I know it isn't huge - just the result of consistent training - but as someone who used to loathe just the idea of running, I am pretty excited. So, to recap - I ran a 10K, it didn't suck, and now I want to do it again! The ice coat...

An Archivist's Miscellania: December 2013
http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Friday, December 13, 2013. The fog starting to lift on Lake Willastein. Leaves just starting to change. Now they are all bare or brown. There were some pretty neat spiderwebs covered in dew on a bridge along the path. The sun came out and melted most of the fog, but the lake stayed mostly still, and there were some great reflections. Great Blue Heron, fishing. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Tuna casserole that isnt terrible. Cooking time: 20-30 minutes. 1 pound pasta - bowties or some other shapes work well. They are sturdier and hold the sauce better than the traditional egg noodles. 1-2 Tbsp oil, divided. 1/2-3/4 cup diced onion. 2 sticks celery, diced. 1 cup or so chopped mushrooms - I prefer baby bellas, but whatever sort you like/can find at the store would be fine. 1) Preheat oven to 375. 5) Drain t...

An Archivist's Miscellania: April 2014
http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Thursday, April 3, 2014. A couple of weeks ago, my dad came to visit Malcolm (well, us too, but mostly Malcolm). We did all sorts of fun things, like gymnastics. Malcolm loves swinging on the bar. We go almost every week, and today he was practicing letting go and falling on his bottom, which he thought was hilarious. Two of my favorite guys. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). An Archivist's Miscellania: Change is good, at least this time
http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2015/04/change-is-good-at-least-this-time.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Friday, April 3, 2015. Change is good, at least this time. What a difference a month makes! Instead of ice and snow, we have temperatures in the 70s most days, and everything is starting to bloom and grow. Of course, I do still run to stay in shape, because I like to bake and cook and eat. And I believe in the Blerch. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Feminist, environmentalist, reader, baker, tennis player, new mother. View my complete profile.

Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Sunday, May 25, 2014. This is kind of a bummer, because I actually do like oatmeal once in a while, but I am on the verge of giving it up as a lost cause. Does anyone else have this problem? Links to this post. An Archivist's Miscellania: September 2013
http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Sunday, September 29, 2013. Malcolm has entered the climbing phase of toddler-hood. For a while, his favorite thing to do was to climb into this basket, even when it was filled with old tennis balls. It took him a little longer to figure out how to get out without falling over. And of course, he climbs onto the bookshelves. Good thing we finally got around to securing them to the wall earlier this summer. Links to this post. She was our first bab...

http://hoperu.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Exploring Arkansas, baking, and playing with my menagerie. Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Fun in the snow (and ice). The first two weeks of February had us fooled; there were several gloriously sunny and warm days that made us think spring was coming early this year. And then, winter decided to make an appearance. At least one of us was happy about it. The sled was my mother's when she was a child, and it still works, and didn't have any problem holding both Malcolm and me as we sped down the hill. And now, the...
