Jim Read’s O scale micro layouts and cardstock work | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/2015/08/10/jim-reads-o-scale-micro-layouts-and-cardstock-work
Prince Edward Island Railway. Jim Read’s O scale micro layouts and cardstock work. I’ve been a fan of Jim Read’s work and have thoroughly enjoyed reading his threads on RMWeb.co.uk for some time. I never realized he had a website to go along with those threads until finding it yesterday:. Http:/ www.jasread.com/micro/index.html. Each of his layouts is in British O scale and each in a very small space. The draw here isn’t so much the. Big trains in a really small space. Examples like those found in Jim...

Parts for sale | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/rsc13-parts
Prince Edward Island Railway. I design and sell a range of parts for Canadian models in my shop on Shapeways:. Http:/ www.shapeways.com/shops/princestreet. I thought it might be useful to post a list of what I have underway or in production for reference. Following is a draft inventory of the shop currently. I’m hoping to extend this list out further in a tabular format with additional information on each part and my thoughts on applications for it. Dual beam headlight square base – HO scale (1/87).

Prince Street | Page 2

Prince Edward Island Railway. Once upon a time no Islander could visit Moncton without picking up a case of canned pop. Way back then, you couldn’t buy soda pop on the Island, it wasn’t legal for sale. In the decade or so since those days were officially retired into our past, new generations of Islanders have developed some new self-imposed rules that only seem to apply in this one special place. Will I ever know what it looks like in the sun? Something must have happened last week. We were in town ...

Canadian Commuter Rail | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/commuter-rail
Prince Edward Island Railway. Some of my favourite time trackside is riding, chasing, and photographing Canadian commuter rail. I’ve been posting copies of photos and slides from my collection to the blog for some time now and thought I’d create a more centralized parent page for these posts. Blog posts are grouped by category, select any of the great Canadian commuter rail operators from the Categories list to check out what I’ve shared so far. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Peco in AutoCAD | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/peco-in-autocad
Prince Edward Island Railway. So I thought I’d draw my own based on their images. By the way, Peco now have the printed sets available for download as PDF’s from their website. Check them out here. The drawing is a Peco SL-396. Nice thing about having it in CAD now is the ease of manipulating it for planning. When all is done I could also print out a full scale drawing of the ladder and use that in planning benchwork – as I have a real gift for placing turnouts directly over frame members. I use AutoCAD ...

Those shingles painted | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/2015/07/16/those-shingles-painted
Prince Edward Island Railway. It’s another lovely sunny day and I thought I’d take the shingles outside to grab a couple of photos of them, now that they are painted. In the final photo, I staged the shingles against my brick sample both to help gauge the size and to contrast in terms of texture and material. Seeing them placed like this I must admit I’m not as disappointed in the shingles as I’ve been so far. Share on Facebook (Opens in new window). Click to email (Opens in new window). July 16, 2015.

Now that’s settled: Victoria Park revisited | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/2013/08/20/now-thats-settled-victoria-park-revisited
Prince Edward Island Railway. Now that’s settled: Victoria Park revisited. I think I’ve settled on a plan and it’s time to start talking about it. As I mentioned in the title, I’m going to build a second version of Ian Futer’s Victoria Park plan. This was the same plan I used for the first of the micro layouts I built last winter. Here’s a quick view of the plan:. I’ve shared it before, but here’s a superb Youtube video of the layout in operation:. And, finally, a photo of what I built the first time:.

More 1/35 brick | Prince Street
https://princestreet.wordpress.com/2015/07/11/more-135-brick
Prince Edward Island Railway. Pictured above is my latest experiment with a technique to make brick in 1/35 scale. Where in my previous sample, I chose to emboss the mortar lines into a sheet of cardstock to mark the location of bricks, these are individually cut and laid. I’m very happy with how well it all came together and think that this is pretty close to how I’d like to proceed. If they ever were. This is just me I know others have found ways around this problem and I probably could too, eventually.
