Klobastime: August 2008
http://klobastime.blogspot.com/2008_08_01_archive.html
August 13, 2008. Being the savvy internet pro that I am, I hate being taken in by sidebar ads. I was on Facebook today and saw the sidebar ad 'Get Band of Horses' tickets. I like this band and I didn't know they were on tour (not that I have time to go to a show anymore in any event) so i clicked it. It led me to another page with a variety of advertisements. There was one for ticketmaster that said 'Great Seats still available'. I click it. But I get ticked off with stupid things. August 03, 2008. Did y...

Klobastime: October 2007
http://klobastime.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
October 30, 2007. I'm cooking so there's a bit of smoke in the apartment. Our smoke detector just went off. Which is odd because it has no batteries in it. I lost my sunglasses. October 20, 2007. Yeah I know my last post had grammar errors. What are you going to do about it? I was bemused by the criteria the Review used to define competition in the Law School (average hours of sleep a night, hours the student studies, and hours the student believes classmates study). October 18, 2007. I walk to school no...

Klobastime: June 2008
http://klobastime.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
June 13, 2008. I am not alone. I was searching the Skype directory for other Klobas's. I found a Scott V Klobas in someplace called West Linn in the US. I thought I was unique! June 11, 2008. Tonight Emily, Mikey and I went to Mama Chu's for dinner. Mama Chu's is a neat little Mexican restaurant with good food and low prices. We noticed a couple of nice cars in the parking lot. I mean really nice sports cars. Later we realized that this guy. June 06, 2008. I am not alone.

A cold day in phoenix. The Unknowable Facts, Part I. Why "informed voter" is an oxymoron. The economic situation is worse. Now we have something that we can't explain, that's happening for reasons we can't explain, with solutions we're not sure about. I've had the same argument with my friend Keith that economists have had on Slate, and I'm sure these same discussions (with bigger words) have on in university faculties across the nation and beyond. A cold day in phoenix. Currently listening to the dull roar of suburbia in Livermore, California. The Judgment of California. In further news, I've been asked not if I'd like to put a hedge around the burning in my soul, but whether I'd like to move it closer to the wall. Posted by Ben at 10:37 AM. Links to this post. Currently listening to "You're Having the Time of My Life" by Jets to Brazil. Posted by Ben at 12:38 PM. Links to this post. One time I started breathing again. Like suddenly waking up.

http://notsomeoneelse.blogspot.com/2009/04/worst-bar-graph-in-world.html
A cold day in phoenix. The Worst Bar Graph in the World. Please take a minute out of whatever you're doing to make fun of this bar graph. Graph from Slate and HHS]. This bar graph was posted by Timothy Noah of slate. On Friday morning- it is horribly, fundamentally flawed, as any student of basic statistics can tell you. Yet Mr. Noah is so convinced of the power of the graph that he bases an entire two long, impassioned pages of text on it. He urges you to stop what you're doing and look at it. Seems to ...

http://notsomeoneelse.blogspot.com/2009/03/of-chuck-and-psych.html
A cold day in phoenix. Of Chuck and Psych. This may be the last season of television. USA's follow up, Psych. Was much along the same lines. Shooting for a younger demographic, it blends the interracial buddy-tale aspect of Scrubs. The crime-plus-jokes of Monk. And a very basic romantic tension its predecessor lacked. Shawn Spencer's antics are also pop-culture reference-laden, like many other shows that have hit it big (Arrested Development again). Sharks, by their nature, wish to be jumped, but modern ...

A cold day in phoenix. Currently listening to "Chinatown" by Jets to Brazil (wow, it's come full-circle; I think I was listening to Jets last time I posted). This is the most tremendous game of catch-up ever- here we go. The biggest news I have is that my friend Brad passed away recently. It was really sad, but I'm glad we know what we do, and I'm glad the kid was constantly prepared to meet his maker. He led a very good life here and I'm certain of his reward.
