For nearly 30 years Minnesota has required new teachers to pass basic skills tests in reading, writing, and math. But now some special interest groups want to weaken that requirement. If they have their way, your kids may be in classrooms with teachers who arent competent in reading, writing and math. Our kids deserve the best. They need teachers who know the basics.
