Spartan i Sverige: Short trip to the Archipelago
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009/06/short-trip-to-archipelago.html
Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Short trip to the Archipelago. And then Chad and Laura were here the 24th-30th. But we didn’t find out until the week before that we had the 21th-22th off for Ascension day. What is Ascension day you may ask? One of Blake's co-workers described it as "The day Jesus flew away." While describing it to Grant. This is my kind of fishing. Notice that these pictures make it look light outside? Yeah, it was about 10 or 11 pm. The sun pretty much doesnt set here anymore, which is reall...

Spartan i Sverige: A Weekend in Berlin
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009/07/weekend-in-berlin.html
Friday, July 3, 2009. A Weekend in Berlin. With things winding down in Europe for not just me, but Blake's sister, Giselle, who is finishing up her dance career in Dresden- Blake and Giselle's mom, Priscilla, flew over to help Giselle move and to visit Blake. Priscilla was flying into Berlin, which I had been wanting to check out, so we decided to meet her there for a couple of days. We passed Checkpoint Charlie. And the Deutscher Dom (German Cathedral) and the Französischer Dom (French Cathedral). Which...

Spartan i Sverige: August 2009
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Wednesday, August 5, 2009. Days 13-15: London, Baby! In case you missed it:. Days 1-3: Glasgow- Euro Trip Begins! Day 4: Edinburgh and A Lot of Rain. Days 5-9: Absurdly Beautiful Norway. Days 10-12: Everyone’s Irish in Dublin. Colleen has known Giselle, Blake’s sister, for quite some time when they used to dance together, and Giselle had mentioned that they might be nice enough to let us stay with them. Not only did we have our own room, but they had an adorable French Bulldog- Ozzy. And then he did this:.

Spartan i Sverige: January 2009
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Wednesday, January 21, 2009. Paris that pretty much says it all. One weekend in Venice, the next in Paris. I could get used to this! Actually I couldn’t. I am soo tired from all this traveling! Well again, I have a reasonable excuse- my Uncle Larry spends every January in France for wine tasting and when I saw him and my Aunt Ida last spring, I told them that if they were in Paris this winter that I would meet up with them, and so I did! But back to the “blog-worthy” stuff… I told you a...And Saturday ni...

Spartan i Sverige: Even Swedes Are Irish on St Patty's Day!
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009/03/even-swedes-are-irish-on-st-pattys-day.html
Wednesday, March 18, 2009. Even Swedes Are Irish on St Patty's Day! She also sent me some green jello, which may or may not be illegal here in Sweden. All I know is that most Swedish people have never had Jello of any form. I know. that's crazy talk. Here we are enjoying (? My favorite pic of the night (which sort of illustrates my point. Sort of.) is our Seattle Seahawks friend, Erik, who considered wearing Seattle Seahawk gloves that Blake picked up for him in the states, his Green for the night. On my...

Spartan i Sverige: June 2009
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Monday, June 22, 2009. Should I start with the good news or the bad news? You know me, I like to shake things up, so I will start with the good news. The good news is that I am officially have a Masters of Science in Engineering! So the real question is. what does this all mean for me? I will be flying back to Detroit in August (12th) for my cousin Zach's wedding and to see family, and then I will be flying to Minneapolis for my best friend Steph's wedding, and then? Monday, June 8, 2009. Chad immediatel...

Spartan i Sverige: Days 1-3: Glasgow- Euro Trip Begins!
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009/07/days-1-3-glasgow-euro-trip-begins.html
Sunday, July 26, 2009. Days 1-3: Glasgow- Euro Trip Begins! Of the country. Back to the story, there Blake and I were about to fly to Glasgow, and we went up to customs, and… Holy crap- I thought I was going to get deported right then and there. Blake made the mistake of saying that we both lived in Sweden, he saw my expired visa and started asking. Anyways, we did make it to Glasgow on Friday night, and stayed at a classy hostel (I joke… you had to pay 1£. To like a place decked out in unicorns. Which i...

Spartan i Sverige: May 2009
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Saturday, May 30, 2009. Paris- Take 2 (well technically 3). I found a cheap flight with Ryanair (even though they SUCK! Later that night we met up with my friend Lori, who went to MSU, but who I know through her brother, Jason, who was in my program at MSU, and who ended up dating my best friend Laura when they (Lori, Jason and Laura) all lived in Phoenix. Did you get that? After I calmed down from the sensory overload, we made our way over to the Pompidou, which was a pretty good modern art museum.

Spartan i Sverige: Last Call!
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009/09/last-call.html
Thursday, September 3, 2009. As they say, all good things must come to an end. And unfortunately, this saying is sadly true. I write this from Seattle where I have been back in the States for a few very, very busy weeks. And now that I have returned to the real world, this will be my last blog post, and the focus will be on the Spartan that (was) in Sweden (i Sverige). But I wanted to go early to hang out and enjoy the archipelago in the summer. Blake and I visited her cabin. The next day, Ida and I vent...

Spartan i Sverige: March 2009
http://courtneyoneill.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2009. The Great Frozen Beyond. A lot of people (cough *Laura* cough) thought the idea of Blake and I going to the Arctic Circle. In the middle of winter was crazy, but after you read this blog (if you make it all the way through, I will forewarn you, it is a doozie) you will not only understand but you will want to go too! Well, Blake had wanted to visit Kiruna since he had heard about the town being moved due to mining. After our 12 hour train ride disaster. The next morning we were pi...
