Review: ‘A Little in Love’ by Susan Fletcher. July 15, 2015. July 30, 2015. I’ve always found re-writings and transpositions interesting. In terms of rewriting a classic from a new perspective, Wide Sargasso Sea. By Jean Rhys has the edge, but this novel is a really, really lovely exploration of Victor Hugo’s. From the point of view of Eponine. That being why I love. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about one storyline on its own, plucked out of the multitude. It’s a massive credit to Susan...This also cem...

Review: ‘Every Woman for Herself’ by Trisha Ashley. July 30, 2015. July 30, 2015. This book has been on my shelf for a. Time I have a certain mood when I read chick lit, which doesn’t strike very often, but when it came around this time I’m glad I had something appropriate on the shelf. Particularly in the character of the male romantic interest, but I didn’t particularly mind it. The only thing that held me back from it becoming a favourite is that I didn’t actually find Mace North parti...I nominated y...

Woman, Writer, Dreamer. March 7, 2015. For International Women’s Day on the 8th March 2015. Several female YouTubers have posted videos with letters addressing their younger selves. Inspired by this idea, I wanted to write my own. I promise, you are going to be okay. You are going to get over being shy, and figure out how to talk to people. Be brave, and you will learn. Secondary school will be both brilliant and awful. It will feel like it’s lasting forever, but then all of a sudden it will seem. Quit c...

Sometimes, Book Reviews. What are you reading right now? August 20, 2015. I mentioned in my last post that I’ve been having a reading slump. I’ve been reflecting a bit on why that is, and how I’m trying to move on from it. I am currently most of the way through Kirsty Logan’s.
