our tiny world: November 2008
http://berndog-ourtinyworld.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
All of us live in our own tiny worlds. Join me as I explore my own tiny world, figuratively and literally. Monday, November 24, 2008. Just wanted to mention two more movies we watched recently through Netflix. It was like watching a 90min J Crew ad. Steve Carrell's comic timing was toned down, and Dane Cooke was typically annoying. Who really likes Dane Cooke anyway? Thursday, November 20, 2008. Supergrass Makes Me Happy. Sunday, November 9, 2008. This Is How I Feel. Tuesday, November 4, 2008. So right n...

All of us live in our own tiny worlds. Join me as I explore my own tiny world, figuratively and literally. Monday, March 31, 2008. You got to check out this website called "Garfield Minus Garfield" (http:/ garfieldminusgarfield.tumblr.com). I read about it in Time Magazine. Some guy has taken the Garfield comic strips from the newspaper and edited Garfield out of all the panels. The results are ingenious and disturbingly creepy. Here's the creator's description from the website:. Saturday, March 29, 2008.

Big In Japan: "The Footprint Of Freedom"
http://berndog-biginjapan.blogspot.com/2007/11/footprint-of-freedom.html
Wednesday, November 21, 2007. The Footprint Of Freedom". Diego Garcia (7°19′S, 72°25′E) is an atoll located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, some 1,000 miles (1,600 km) south off India's and Sri Lanka's southern coast. Diego Garcia is the largest atoll by land area of the Chagos Archipelago. It is part of the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), a British overseas territory. I went with the Yokosuka base veterinarian and his assistant on a small 20foot boat manned by a crew of two. We reeled in ov...

Big In Japan: Dramatic Engrish 101
http://berndog-biginjapan.blogspot.com/2007/11/dramatic-engrish-101.html
Saturday, November 24, 2007. The term "Engrish" in itself is kind of derogatory in that it pokes fun at Asian peoples' difficulty in distinguishing between "L" and "R" sounds (see the movie "Lost In Translation", or the final scene in "A Christmas Story"). So next time you're in a department store looking for a toaster oven, you might check to see which floor the "erectric goods" are on! I miss these signs so much! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Monday, November 12, 2007. Glorious Tokyo, Pt. 2. I had to continue the previous post because somehow blogger would not let me post so many photos on one entry. So here's a few more, with descriptions. The next photo is Ginza, the highest(! End shopping area in Japan, if not the world (save maybe 5th Ave. in NYC). That landmark is the clock atop Wako department store. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). I'm a 37yo endodontist, prior-military, now residing back in my hometown, Jacksonville, Fl. My bea...

All of us live in our own tiny worlds. Join me as I explore my own tiny world, figuratively and literally. Thursday, April 23, 2009. Check this out. Akemi's friend Hiromi came over and cut her wild mane of hair. What was left after the hair carnage was about the size of one of our chihuahuas! Hiromi had some training at a salon in Japan, and the result was gorgeous. Akemi looks so sassy, spunky, and Japanesey! Wednesday, April 22, 2009. And why should I care? So sharp and pixie-like! So I've been kicking...

Big In Japan: Awaken Your Inner Hippie
http://berndog-biginjapan.blogspot.com/2007/11/awaken-your-inner-hippie.html
Monday, November 12, 2007. Awaken Your Inner Hippie. How does that make any sense! Anyway, this is a great documentary, well-deserving of any of the accolades it's received, and may even make you consider investing in a smaller vehicle, turning off the computer when you're finished surfing the porn sites, and possibly even using a reusable eco-bag instead of paper or plastic when you do your grocery shopping!
