Wednesday, March 12, 2014. The gulls are back! On my way home from breakfast at a local restaurant this morning I was greeted to the sounds of Ring-billed Gulls. I saw them hovering near the road and did the proverbial double take! I thought to myself "I guess spring actually is coming! This played out as I was rushing to get some groceries and head back home as another winter storm was about to hit us with around 20 cm of snow! Yup - there is a blizzard out there as I write this. Saturday, January 19, 2013. One finds the most beautiful, wise and poignant messages on tombstones. As someone who frequents cemeteries for both inspiration and wildlife photo opportunities, I have read many epitaphs during my meanderings. Tuesday, July 24, 2012. I ventured out a few days ago in the hopes of finding a Cicada emerging from its nymphal case. I was astonished to do just that! I found it when it was halfway out and watched the entire process of it pulling itself free and pumping its green blood into its wings to expand them. It looked like an exhausting ordeal and the Cicada paused several times (I presume to rest). I would like to think it is now up in the tree-tops singing its summery song! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
