This keeps pastures clean and reduces the risk of worms. Doing this daily enables Wally to monitor the health of his charges. (Wally in centre). Links to this post.

Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset: May 2007
http://ashtreestables.blogspot.com/2007_05_01_archive.html
Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset. Thursday, May 24, 2007. Here's a pictorial record of the various stages of the Mike Holland operation. Enter Mike Holland, a local contractor, with two strong lads! A major root from the Ash Tree that had caused the old concrete to lift had to be cut off in order to achieve the required slope of a minimum of 1:12 for wheelchair users. Fingers crossed the tree will survive - it provides useful shade on hot days. We receive high praise from all who visit now.

Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset: November 2006
http://ashtreestables.blogspot.com/2006_11_01_archive.html
Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset. Friday, November 10, 2006. I've been determined to get a photo of one of these boys. not very good, but my best shot so far! With rutting pretty well over, the acorns all cleared up and the clocks going back we don't see much of the deer during the day. They start coming out into the fields now just as it starts getting dark in the evenings. The woods behind show just how green the trees still are for mid-November. Posted by joncolvile at 9:42 pm. Once a we...

Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Breakfast over. ready waiting for first drive of the day. Last week saw the arrival of the first two swallows. I know two swallows don't make a summer, but recently it has certainly felt very much like summer! A date has been set for our AB Whip tests that will be conducted by two RDA examiners on Wednesday 2nd May, so Denise and I are feverishly trying to get in as much driving practice whenever the horses have a spare slot!

I only hope that I can run the group as well as she did. Posted by Wally Pitt. Posted by joncolvile at 9:50 pm. Links to...

Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset: December 2006
http://ashtreestables.blogspot.com/2006_12_01_archive.html
Carriage Driving For Disabled Adults In Dorset. Saturday, December 23, 2006. Denise seen having her daily chat with Bambi, leaving her some breakfast, on the way back from "pooh" picking. We are all animal lovers working here at Holton Lee, so it is naturally distressing to find a fawn orphaned before she was old enough to be weaned. It was apparent that Bambi was probably about three weeks old when she lost her mum because she was seen to be grazing and cudding - a sign that the rumen was working. Marti...
