When I was pregnant with Hayden, I read an article in a magazine that depicted a family’s tradition with their daughter. Beginning with her first birthday, they dressed her in her grandmother’s vintage bathing suit and took a picture. My Life and How It's Going. Monday, April 28, 2014. Harper and her home/cozy spot. Harper has been constructing homes - which she also refers to as cozy spots. She brings together many objects, pillows, and toys and creates these special areas that she finds comforting. As she builds these spaces, she tells me, "I'm working" and "I need to work.". My Life and How It's Going. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Harper's first day of school. Harper went back to school today - entering the Younger 3s Classroom. She goes to First School. From 8am until noon on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Just enough time to give her some quality playtime with her friends and learning time with her teachers while also enabling me to get some MUCH needed alone time. Suffice it to say, Miss Harper Grace had a fantastic first day of school. Labels: first day of school.

My Life and How It's Going. Tuesday, March 31, 2015. Family trip 2015 - Disney Fantasy Caribbean Cruise. Last week, my family went on our annual family vacation. My mom picked and planned the whole trip - an Eastern. Disney Cruise with stops in San Juan, St. Thomas, and Disney's Castaway Cay. The 'family' included The Beldens - my mom and dad, The Carrolls - my sister, her husband, and their little boy Kennedy, and the Werners - myself, Randy, Hayden, and Harper. My Life and How It's Going. Friday, May 29, 2015. Memorial day weekend at the lake. We spent this past weekend at the lake with my parents as well as my sister and her family. Despite the rainy conditions, we had a good time. When it wasn't raining, the kids enjoying "swimming" in the hot tub. Harper spent some time relaxing on the couch with Izzy (my parents' shih-tzu). My Life and How It's Going. Friday, August 7, 2015. We spent the past two weekend at the Lakehouse. The first weekend it was just the 4 of us (plus Alfie). It was really nice to get away just the 4 of us. It was a much different atmosphere at the Lakehouse without everyone there and we enjoyed it - although we also enjoy going to the Lakehouse when my parents and my sister and her family are there. It was a nice change of pace though - and something we hope to do again (and regularly). In The Know Mom.

My Life and How It's Going. Tuesday, June 30, 2015. Last week, Hayden was at camp - overnight camp - at Ferncliff. In Little Rock, Arkansas. This was his 3rd year to attend. The past 2 years, he attended Discovery Camp which is only 2 nights. This year, he attended Hydro Camp which was 5 nights (with drop-off Sunday afternoon and pick-up Friday afternoon).
