We arrived to Mazatlan Friday, Dec. 19 and quickly found ourselves caught up in the bustle of the city with a shopping list in one hand, guide book in the other and our Garmin Nuvi nagivator on the dashboard. San Blas has a population of about 15,000 so its public market is not huge. Most public markets are like indoor swapmeets- kind of dark with isles of small booths selling various goods but here was unusual in that it was very light and bright inside with a large food service counter in the center. Tuesday, December 14, 2010. Where my love of fabric began. We're camping at Pismo Beach, CA for a few days so I decided to drive 20 miles to my childhood home town, Santa Maria. There is a fabric store there that holds so many memories to me that I fall in to some kind of trance whenever I visit. They've got a great color library on the back walls! The store is bigger than "just a quilt store" and features home decor, bridal, and wool fabrics. They've got a great selection of trims and buttons too.
