Eating my way across Europe: Normandy

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2014/09/normandy-wakes-slowly-mist-hovering-low.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Normandy wakes slowly, mist hovering low, dew heavy in the fields and sunrays shining through the trees. We are fortified by a classic French breakfast: crispy baguette with butter and jams, flaky but chewy croissant, yoghurt, juice, fruit and coffee, and are enjoying the quiet of a 7.30 start to today's 90 km cycle. Our destination is Saint-Lo, via Vire. September 3, 2014 at 5:07 PM. Subscribe to...

Eating my way across Europe: Cave-girl on a bike

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2013/05/cave-girl-on-bike.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Wednesday, May 22, 2013. Cave-girl on a bike. On to Italy, from Piedmont to Sicily to Bologna. Pizza, pasta, seafood, and many meals containing pig. And cake for breakfast every day. I'm nervous and excited about setting off tomorrow with a ridiculously small amount of clothing in Beautiful Husband's panniers, but also hoping I can avoid too many meals of schnitzel and fries! Labels: Bicycling in Europe. A la mode frangourou.

Eating my way across Europe: Autumn

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2014/10/autumn.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Wednesday, October 15, 2014. As I write this, the snow is melting in Katoomba after my town experienced its second October snow-storm in three years. (Last year the Blue Mountains were devastated by bushfires.). In Austria yesterday, it was sunny and 20 degrees. Early last year, Steven tried to talk me into a cycling trip in Europe. I was having none of it! We got back on the train, and headed for the canals of France instead.

Eating my way across Europe: Slippery little suckers.

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2010/07/slippery-little-suckers.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Friday, July 9, 2010. The children made me do it. I use that excuse a lot, but usually it relates to my own children. We ordered a half-serve. The little feelers were still visible as we dragged them from their homes with toothpicks. Steven described them as hot, soft pistachio nuts. More-ish. Can’t stop at one. He ate sixty-seven. I ate forty-eight snails. There were still about a hundred left on the plate. Do the bike thing.

Eating my way across Europe: September 2014

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Sunday, September 21, 2014. Filling the gaps in France, The Netherlands and Germany. So much crackling and pork fat on one plate! Sauerkraut and baked potatoes were hidden underneath. Only bones were left behind. I will have some kind of green food tomorrow. And what of Dutch food, I hear you ask? Best meal in France? I would choose the oyster entree I had in Ouistreham. So fresh and so salty. I don't often eat oysters...The w...

Eating my way across Europe: June 2010

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Friday, June 25, 2010. The Threshing Machine goes to a health farm! It had to happen eventually. I suddenly got sick of food. France, you can keep your crispy crunchy baguettes and lusciously stinky cheese, Italy, I've had it with your roast meats with aromatic herbs and the less Lithuanian zeppelins are mentioned the better. Born again, I am determined to shed the seven kilos I've gained since we arrived in Europe in March.

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Thursday, May 23, 2013. Cave girl on a bike. I was pretty excited about breakfast this morning, as our hotel was a much better standard than we're used to. I wasn't disappointed, and stuck to my dietary principles very well. A huge bowl of fruit salad, yoghurt and sunflower seeds, followed by a little smorgasbord of smoked salmon, raw and cooked ham, goat's cheese, camembert, cucumber and cherry tomatoes. Luxury! I was going t...

Eating my way across Europe: March 2010

http://eatingmywayacrosseurope.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html

Eating my way across Europe. Sight-seeing is just an interlude between meals". Tuesday, March 30, 2010. You want me to eat a bird's nest? We arrived at the 16th Century farmhouse. At the end of a road to a garden of sculptures. I said to Steven, “An artist lives here.” I asked Madam if she was said artist, but no, it was her husband. Where did the bird fit in with the jambon? Then, a pot containing ham and lots of hay around the edges… jambon in a bird’s nest! As we left, I said to Madam “You are a...

Doing the Bible and Theology

Doing the Bible and Theology. Commentary on the Bible and Theology with a view to increasing devotion to Jesus. Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Galatians 4: Dropping the Freedom Bomb. Here is what we have in Galatians 4:. 1 To be under a Jewish system of law is to be under bondage to things that kept us in elementary school (1-3). 2 To adhere to a system of law as that which grants us acceptance with God and others is the same thing as going back and worshiping false gods (vs 7-9). Boom, set free from a way o...

LBC

It is the heart and vision of the LBC Student Ministries to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through both Word and Lifestyle. James 1:22 mandates beleivers, "to be DOERS. Not hearers only." Romans 12:1-2, demands beleivers to, "present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God.conforming to Christ not the world by renewing our minds.(my paraphrase).". How do we do this? We study the Word of God, We follow the Word of God, and We DO the Word of God. Tuesday, February 2, 2010. February 28...
