Day trips with friends. Friday, August 2, 2013. LAGUNA BEACH WEDDING VISIT. Laguna Beach Art Museum. Seven 4 one boutique hotel. We enjoyed a drive to Laguna for a wedding of the daughter of a friend of Ed’s. There was time to enjoy the nearby ocean views at Heisler Park before heading to Seven 4 one boutique hotel for rest of the wedding festivities. Day trips with friends. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. We enjoyed a visit at the Birch aquarium which opened in 1992. The aquarium provides ocean science education, research interpretation and promotes conservation. The Hall of fishes features fishes and invertebrates of the Northwest to the tropical waters of Mexico and the Caribbean. A highlight includes several tanks of jelly fish. The largest tank has a kelp forest. There is also a shark tank that includes shark species of tropical reef habitats.

Even this old Mulberry tree is beginning to shower us with pollen. Doug finally figured out where he stored the lawn mower last year. Doug is trying to remember how to start the mower! By 1846 the U.S. declared war on Mexico and a new constitution was written in 1849 and California was a state in 1850. By then the American flag was raised in the plaza and San Diego was incorporated as a city. The San Diego Union Museum is a historic structure in Old Town San Diego.
