Sunday, May 3, 2009. Soda firing.mmmm, salty. Originally uploaded by Meredith Hawley. This spring I took a cone 6 soda course, which culminated in two weekends of firing and unloading at Doug Dotson's. Studio in Pittsboro, NC (though I missed the first weekend because of my first oratorio gig at the Chapel- another big event for me). The resulting pots were pretty amazing, but the process and the fun of participating in a group firing really makes the whole experience that much more exciting. May 3, 2009...

Saturday, May 9, 2009. Welcome to the planet, little one. My sister brought a whole new person into the world yesterday. Meet little Emerson:. She came to us early, at just 33 weeks. But this tiny one is feisty.all 2 pounds 10 ounces of her. We've taken note of her perfect and long little fingers, and my mind is already buzzing with thoughts of the lovely things they will make. And man, does her Aunt Mer love her already. Sunday, May 3, 2009. Soda firing.mmmm, salty. Originally uploaded by Meredith Hawley.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009. I cannot even begin to tell you how much fun these people are to work with. We have worked really hard this week helping Mark get ready for his opening but we have had some great laughs. All very talented: Chad Brown, James Ward, Alex Matisse, Mark Hewitt, Jessica, and Martin Simpson. Where was Joseph? Sadly he missed the photo of the straw hat club. That would be me with Mark's fingers sticking out of my head! Links to this post. Tuesday, April 28, 2009. Links to this post.

Thursday, May 29, 2008. My wheel came from Bailey today. I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. This is the view I will have all summer. Monday, September 29, 2008. I'm not ready for soups and stews yet, still trying to get the last bit of summer flavors! I'm going to work on some Earthenware this week, experiment with some slips and stains. We'll see, it's been awhile, but I need a break from the craggy clay. All of my tea bowls are out of bisque and stacked up waiting for the dreaded glazing day, they look pretty good so far. 1 green bell pepper, diced. 1/2 cup diced red onion. 10 oz of frozen corn, cooked. 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
