Friday, December 28, 2012. Our "Historic" house on camp. Circa 1950ish. I awoke the other day to the exotic call of a bird just outside our bedroom window. It apparently had spent some time in a tropical rainforest, where such sounds seem normal. I find it strange hearing it here, but understand the root of my confusion. I have been very negligent in maintaining this blog during the past year. This has been a time of transition for myself and my wife. The Rub al Khali desert landscape is a difficult place.
