Friday, June 4, 2010. Well I can't get the rest of the pictures to go into the blog! Ran in a 5 k fun run last Sunday. Have a lot of work to finish before I leave on R&R (July11). Met the new Deputy Commander today, nice lady, did 5k on the treadmill today, stood in line at the so called bank for 30 minutes today, had icecream today (oreo cookie) did laundry and now I'm writing the blog! Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Well I've now moved into the blogging stage of life, next stop Winchester Virginia for 4 days of "predeployment activities". Monday morning (Aug 31st) I get picked up at my hotel, the Holiday Inn Winchester and delivered to the UDC (USArmy Corps of Engineers Deployment Center) and go through orientation and medical review after lunch the acronyms start! Monday, October 26, 2009. Well the excitement just keeps on coming! I got to go on a “business trip” to Kandahar! Let’s see Roger B. goes to Hawaii on business, Peter W. goes to Florida, well let’s not go there…. Anyway it was a blast. The reason we went down is to develop the master plan of the Army Corps of Engineer’s compound. Currently it is many temporary or semi-permanent buildings. Or in other words tents, tarps and tacky whatevers! Good thing was we could see them! It is very dusty in Kandahar!
