Sometimes I Write for Real

Sometimes I Write for Real. Monday, July 13, 2015. A few blog posts ago I talked about children and travel. I also admitted that we hadn't taken our children on a "real" vacation since we went to Mount Rushmore in 2010. We decided to risk bored children in the backseat and took a road trip to Disneyland last month. And we loved it. Here are a bazillion pictures from our trip. Carlsbad, California—The Beach. We're out of here! I'm sticking to Utah lakes. Ethan got a mouth full of salt water. This was the ...

Sometimes I Write for Real: May 2015

http://www.douglaurel.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html

Sometimes I Write for Real. Saturday, May 16, 2015. The conversation at the lunch table turned to LDS missions. My friend with a 19-year-old daughter said, "I'm nervous for my daughter. Her mission papers are in, and she could go anywhere in the world. But she's never left Utah before. Well, if you don't count Idaho or Disneyland." And we all agreed that she couldn't. At first, I raised my eyebrows in a virtual gasp, "Never left Utah before? How is that possible? Kids were well traveled, but are they?

Sometimes I Write for Real: Madeleine's Baptism Day

http://www.douglaurel.blogspot.com/2015/06/madeleines-baptism-day.html

Sometimes I Write for Real. Thursday, June 4, 2015. Lately the blog has been all about Maddie—her birthday, her baptism photo shoot, and now her baptism day. But yes, Ethan still lives here, too. Here are a few pictures from the day. Refreshments for family at our house after the baptism. A beautiful wrist corsage for Maddie, made by my sister. That's as good as Ethan looked in any of our family pictures. Maddie's cousin, Cameron, sizing up the food. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Click on pic above...

Sometimes I Write for Real: April 2015

http://www.douglaurel.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Sometimes I Write for Real. Saturday, April 25, 2015. A Baptism Dress and a Camera. My mom has a tradition with her granddaughters: she buys them a beautiful white dress for their baptism days. Maddie has had her baptism dress hanging in her closet for 2 months now, patiently waiting for the day when she could put it on for the first time. And Baptism Dress Photoshoot Day was the day. It's lacy, it's poofy, and it spins! Monday, April 13, 2015. Eight is Great for Maddie. Madeleine turned 8 years old yest...

Sometimes I Write for Real. Tuesday, January 28, 2014. When they announced my name in church as one who'd now be working with the Wolf Den-aged cub scouts, my nephew leaned over to his mother and whispered, "I wonder how. Going to work out." Shrewd kid. Yes, there would be marbles. My nephew was on to something when he whispered to my sister. But for the sake of my son who is happy as can be to be a cub scout, I think it will work out just fine. On the way to Pack Meeting. Pinning on the Bobcat parent pin.

Just Us Visnaws: December 2013

http://visnaws.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Friday, December 13, 2013. Heart Throbs (kidding, of course). Sometimes we take pictures that we just don't know what to do with. This occasion was one of those times. Leon and I spent our Anniversary together doing some shopping, eating out, and then to the Riverwoods to see their Christmas lights and to hear Alex Boye. My two "heart throbs" - yeah, right. Tuesday, December 3, 2013. They're Here, They're Here! Okay, so you'll have to turn your head to the side to "see" the first half of this video, but ...

Tuesday, April 23, 2013. Easter weekend started off with coloring eggs, what else? My boys are at that age, again, when it's nearly impossible to get them all serious for a picture. Didn't we go through this when they were toddlers? Easter morning, bright and early, the. Easter Bunny" (we know who you are) hid ALL 48 colored eggs in the backyard for the boys to find. I'm not sure what Landon was up to, but at least there was no Easter grass in his basket. I banned that stuff this year - good riddance!

Your Nav Bar Here. So Long, Farewell. Tomorrow I leave Vienna to start my Oxford Program. You guys. My heart is major broken. I love this place. I learned so many things in this place. I ate so many croissants in this place. I made some good friends in this place. Today I wandered around all of my favorite places in the city. http://toicecreamwithlove.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html

Your Nav Bar Here. There are a few things in my life that I don't question. For example:. Sometimes you need to you need to call your mother to tell her you love her and not to ask for money or cry. Sometimes you need to pretend that Dirty Dancing is not your favorite movie. It's a survival skill. Sometimes you need to eat cupcakes with mini oreos on top. Sometimes you just need to stop counting, especially when it comes to mini cupcakes. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Blogs I Crush On. A Mom and a Camera.
