An American's musings about living in Hong Kong and travelling to China frequently for work. Thursday, December 20, 2007. I'll be on holiday in Shanghai from December 20-25, then Beijing from December 25-31, then back to Shanghai (for NYE) from December 31 - January 2, so I should have lots of fun and interesting stories and pictures to share when I get back. Happy holidays to all! Monday, December 17, 2007. 26 Dead Baby Pigs. Thursday night I went to a jazz boat cruise. Friday night I went to an outdoor...

The Sleepless Dictionary: June 2008

An American's musings about living in Hong Kong and travelling to China frequently for work. Saturday, June 7, 2008. Singapore has been fun - it feels like a smaller version of Hong Kong, except without all the air pollution and litter on the ground. Yes indeed, it's a very clean city. The pictures are arranged in backwards and semi-random order (the last pictures i took are first) because of the way upload uploaded them wrongly - anyways you will still get the gist of things. What more could you ask for.

An American's musings about living in Hong Kong and travelling to China frequently for work. Monday, May 26, 2008. The journey begins.in Brunei! Sunday I started out at the Royal Regalia Museum, which houses a collection of gifts from dignataries and presidents of other countries to the Sultan of Brunei (who has like 26 different words in his formal name). It also contained the royal carriage that was used in the Sultan's procession in Brunei when he became Sultan (or during his Jubilee - I forget):.

An American's musings about living in Hong Kong and travelling to China frequently for work. Monday, June 2, 2008. I've been in Bali since May 27 and am leaving this afternoon for Singapore. I have mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, Bali is beautiful - here are some beach shots I took:. And each morning the shop-owners put out these little squares of flower and incense in front of their shops to hope for a good day:. But the food is divine! Good stuff - now on to the next country! View my ...

An Exploration of Leadership. From the perspective of a communicator on the path to becoming a servant-leader. Laquo; Go to the Beach. September 2, 2009 by Michelle Bennett. Image via Flickr user foodistablog. Okay, let me set the scene for you: you’re sitting around a campfire, s’mores in hand (using super gigante malvaviscos. Of course), andwhat do you do? Probably not. You hang around when someone gives you colorful context, a plot, good characters, some action and a climax, followed by an ending.

An Exploration of Leadership. From the perspective of a communicator on the path to becoming a servant-leader. Laquo; Today is Brought to You by the Letter “H”. Go to the Beach. August 26, 2009 by Michelle Bennett. Go to the beach. That’s not something you think of when you’re studying leadership, is it? Have you ever tried to build a sandcastle just using your bare hands? Just pick up one seashell at a time. The answer is in a story (not sure of its origin). Do you approach it one step at a time, ask ot...

An Exploration of Leadership. From the perspective of a communicator on the path to becoming a servant-leader. Laquo; Full Circle Leadership. Do You Set the Standard? September 29, 2009 by Michelle Bennett. Via Flickr user KeithBurtis. Last week I read a Time magazine article about a young lady who tried to get a job at an Abercrombie and Fitch store. She didn’t get the job and found out later that it was because she wears a hijab. We’re not supposed to exceed it. Leaders should be setting a higher stand...
